My most recent catastrophe was a set of five vintage old fashioned glasses. As I opened the box it was filled to the brim with shredded newspaper and even was a box in a box, yet the glasses were wrapped with measly paper towels with NOTHING in the voids! Inevitably one glass broke! At least I was left with an even set of four. Saddest part was they were a gift.

Thank you for sharing all your hard learned business lessons. I really agree that buyers will spend their money if either #1 they have found something (almost regardless of price) that they have long been searching for, or just have to have , OR #2 there is something where the bargain price is too good to refuse. Hopefully we as sellers will find that sweet spot and close the deals.

Thank you for all the great advice! I love watching you pack up items because I learned so much. I have bought breakable items from resellers and they pack things so poorly that I probably have had about 75% of the breakable items sent to me be broken. It’s so frustrating that I take great care when I pack breakable items. If only sellers would take a little more time and be thoughtful when they’re packing they would end up with happier customers.

I know what you are saying. It breaks my heart too when I see photos in Facebook groups of purchases that arrived broken due to poor packaging. With all the information on KZbin (including ours) about how to pack fragile items, there's really no reason that sellers can't find out how to pack properly. Thank you!

PS I have been using your pool noodle packing tip (TY) and I find that a serrated bread knife makes quick work of cutting them to size.

I'm going to try what you're doing to get some sales. Stop promoted listings (which hasn't helped) and just run sales. It's been difficult for me to choose what percent number to use because I like to donate a portion to charity on some items. And eBay's fees are enough, I don't like them double dipping. I hope this helps me.

ebay "offers", "make offer." The item sold on either an offer from the buyer or accepting an offer I sent. Hope that helps. Thanks Patricia!
