Love this dish, I’ve never used prohock for this dish, I will try it next time. Traditionally, Khmer food is not spicy like Thai or Lao food. However, we serve the peppers on the side, not mix it into the food. Now a day, the new Khmer generation love spicy food. Just curious, What is your nationality? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. In my culture we make something similar. If you type in Picadillo tons of recipes will pop up. My family made it with hot green olives (I believe they are called picadillo olives or picante olives-not sure) that add the heat to the dish. Of course we use cilantro. Some recipes add tomato sauce but I prefer not to. Hope you give it a try. We are more alike than we are different. Have a pleasant weekend.

I just looked up Picadillo and it looks delicious. There are some similarities in the way it looks for sure. I'd love to try that one day. Thank you for sharing about your culture. I find many countries share similar kinds of foods and ingredients. It's fascinating. Have a great weekend.

I love your recipes but I've had trouble finding some ingredients at my local Asian grocery stores. Do you know any good online resources to order from?
@ThunThunChannel
@ThunThunChannel 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Which ingredients in particular? Sometimes Amazon and Etsy has vendors who sell most of these ingredients. Herbs might be in the dried form though. Southeast Asian Facebook groups like "Khmer home cooking, dessert, gardening and travels" also has verified members who sell many fresh items on there occasionally. There are also substitutions and things that you can leave out too.
