If we can't find Galangal at our local supermarket, would Ginger root be a good substitute? Thank you so much!
@ThunThunChannel10 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching. You can leave the galangal out. Ginger won’t provide the same flavor.

I made the bamboo soup from your recipe in the last week's vid. I loved it. I wish I had some kabocha but in Colorado Springs, CO we can't be too picky since we have Asian hate crime and stuff! I won't be making this new recipe because it has too much meat! My sister is in love with pad kra poa. You know that weird basil that is so popular in Thailand? I hate it. I grow 10 plants, I cook them and to me, it tastes like crap. But whatever, I hate Phad Thai so I guess I am not normal. I would like to ask you to make a video of this eggplant recipe where you roast the eggplant (not the purple one please, I meant the green ball-shaped ones) then you smooshed it, and add stuff. Yes, I know that is the most descriptive and informative Evah! I was around 7 years old when my parents escape Laos to Thailand. That is pretty much all I can say LMAO! I just know I loved "CERTAIN" food and while I missed them, I don't know what they are. Thank you for your videos. I love them and find them very relaxing.

Thank you for trying the bamboo soup, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hear you on the kaprao basil. I thought it tasted too strong when I was younger but now I like it a lot. You're just fine, we all have our own taste preferences 😊 As far as the eggplant dish you're talking about, I think it might be jeow mak keua or suup mak keua. It's on my list of videos to make in the future. Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I want to eat this so badly!! I guess I'll have to make them, but honestly I sometimes contemplate moving to Vietnam or Thailand just to eat street food for a couple years.

I sometimes think about that too. I miss the food culture there!
