Dr Khan forgets an important issue in the matter. In 2018, it was Trump who was President and he cared two hoots for Pakistan. Biden Administration has many legacy persons/ policies from Clinton's time. After all, it was the Clinton Administration which was most hostile to India and supported Pakistani terror in Kashmir. So a port which would hurt Pakistani interests is not something that would make the US happy. On the alleged Punnu murder attempt, it has all the hall marks of a falsely fabricated case. Indian investigation may or may not be proceeding to American satisfaction but why is the US not proceeding with the trial of arrested drug dealer ? He was arrested last June which means it is nearly a year since his arrest. The selective leaks to US journalists suggests that this simply an attempt to influence Indian elections. After all, the case is more about wars between drug gangs and Khalistan is a fig leaf to hid the drug deals

Sir I think this issue must have discussed beforehand with USA. If not then also USA should support this because it will help to counter increasing Chinese influence in the region. Gwalior port is not a competitor to Chambahar port. Gwalior port is only as alternative access for china in case there is blockage in Malacca straits. Chambahar is the real access point to central Asia and Russia and Europe in future.

Afghanistan will NEVER JOIN CPEC. India, in any case does not recognize CPEC as it has been built on the Indian territory occupied by Pakistan. America wants access to Afghanistan through an alternate route via Chabahar. So, it is a win win situation for all except for Pakistan and China.

Sanctions are misunderstood things, It may works for smaller or isolated country but not for bigger country like india or china and also the effect of sanctions can be easily nullified . It worked for Iran because Iran hasn't had good terms in regions, quite isolated already. And news outlet making outcry of sanction makes no sense, since Chabahar port agreement is not new.

Sir, Through Chabahar India will be able to extract Iran from the firm embrace of China. Will it not help USA to diminsh China and enhance American interest? Moreover an instability in Pakistan will make Gawadar costly. But a stable Chabar under Indian entrepreneur will be much more reliable for trade and investment in Central Asia. Americans are not that foolish not to acknowledge it.

Surely India wouldn't have moved into the Chabahar Port with this 10 years agreement without prior consultation, and may I dare add prior approval of the USA. Of course the US braggadocio we will now witness will be part of a develish script co-authored by India. India is being taken for a ride. Trade with Afghanistan and Central Asia is literally a pipe-dream. Opium is the most valuable Afghan export. If we want to support the Baluch separatists, there would be less expensive ways to do it. But then that would not suit our conflict entrepreneurs. As usual we must puff up our gas filled diplomatic muscle. We must remember what Ajit (yesteryear's villain, btw from H'bad) said, "Darya mein rehkar magarmuch se bair?"
