This frog does some serious work in the evening after a rainstorm. Thanks for the great pattern.

I tied a dozen of these and tested them. WOW! First cast in weeds a huge bass hit and busted me leader, but the fly floated thank goodness. Caught many bass with these. I modified them a bit, but a great pattern.

Here we are 3 years further.. But these anti weed stainles bars Ive never seen before. They seem great. "Always" used like 50/00 nylon for that. But a lot of miss/lost fish. The 50/00 seems often to strong strangly enough!! The stainles in the vid. bend very souple/easy . And stiff enough to skip over weeds tough. Thats one reaseon to love these yt tying vids. Altough being 2016: Thanks

Great looking fly. I am going to have to tie them now. I really hate most foam flies. I don't know why really, just don't like them usually. You finally came up with one I like. Now I gotta buy that frog foam. Don't have it, but I bet a Sharpie would do the job. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean

What a cracking good fly!!! One question please, what was that tool you used to whip finish/ tie off the fly at the end? Cheers Dave in Australia

i've been fishing my whole life and i've never asked this question, but always wondered it. If the fish is only seeing the bottom of the fly, or conventional top water lure, why put all the sweet frog pattern foam on top and leave the bottom like a squiggily foam mess? i bet that fly gets bit like crazy, but honestly, they don't see that nice foam on top of the lure, correct? wouldn't it be better to use cheap green foam in a squiggley/whatever finish on top, with a very detailed belly? awesome fly, Steve! looks delicious

True, but it's more important to catch the fisherman than the fish, because that means money. You're smart

Awesome pattern...are the tan strip 1/2" wide? And how wide is the body foam? Thanks!

+Brent Frerck Sorry it took a while to get back with you, my account was messed up. Cut ¼” wide strip of Tan Fly Foam. Cut 5/8” wide Frog Foam.

I'm curious about your whip finish tool, or half hitch tool. Looks like it works well, but have not seen them in the fly shop. Great tie by the way!!

Great frog, only one problem with the video... around the 3 minute mark, you hold up something that says laminated... laminated what??? this is the reason I prefer people who speak in their tying vids. I don't have to guess what they're using
@stevedallyoutfitters9 жыл бұрын
+Wayne Miller You don't have to guess. If you care to click the show more button below the video, you can see the whole material list itemized, one by one.The material in question was Olive Prism Dub ......
