I just had to pause it at 17:39 to comment about why the fuck are they dogging the shit out of you and the Osiris guys right to your face on some weird passive aggressive shit. That's gotta be what these kids are talking about when they say "micro aggressions". You are a fucking LEGEND my G! You were one of the best skaters at that time, period. And so was your whole squad. I'm legit pissed at how they're on the low dogging you and your squad right to your face. WTF is that about??? SMFH

It's not nardwuar-esque; these guys obviously clowned on Chad and his San Diego crew back in the day and he's just throwing out all the shit he and his homies talked for validation. The whole interview felt like a prank that Chad wasn't in on and I feel bad for him. He's thinking "we're all grown ups now; we can talk about this stuff like it's the past" while jeron and Chris keep looking at each other like, "holy shit he's actually TALKING about this! how far can we go before he realizes that we're making fun of him?". Really disappointed in the three hosts for this one. Chad Knight got more clips in his day than all three of them combined.

They kind of left out a huge detail about NFTs... let's use that GTA 6 analogy.... say Rockstar creates a special weapon that can be purchased-but only 1,000 gamers (out of a population of millions) are lucky enough to get it. Yes, everyone can see it when I use it, can see it in pictures and video-but only 1,000 people ACTUALLY have it. What's more, each of the 1,000 weapons is issued a number 1-1,000... so yes, they are the same weapon, but their own uniquely IDd assets that the gamer actually owns that numbered weapon. That's what Chad was discussing about "the Blockchain"-which is like a giant database of who owns all these uniquely IDd assets. That's what an NFT is, except it's not a weapon in GTA, it's a piece of digital art or a digitized version of existing art. YES, it may look like the same picture you could print out or look at in pictures, but every NFT has it's own unique ID so you actually own it. In the case of a company like Funko or ABD collectibles, you buy packs of digital cards (the cards are the NFTs and each have a unique ID... yes, they look like the same piece of digital art as the next, but on the Blockchain they are different and can be owned/sold by different people)-but if you pull certain NFTs, ABD sends you a physical "reward" such as a real card from that set, Funko sends you a special POP you can't buy in stores. Now, moving away from video games and into that virtual reality Chad was describing. Imagine owning one of @chadknight5791 's MASSIVE digital art pieces (which have scope and size that span continents) and in that virtual world (whether something like Occulus or even a neural implant) you could enter that 3d space and move around in it-but ONLY if you possessed that uniquely IDd, limited piece of virtual art. Not trying to shill for NFTs (some people believe they are a scam... and some are), just providing a bit more context

Would you rather than lie to his face? They were honest in that they were on team Girl/Chocolate. Very few people were in both camps at that time. I rode for Osiris back then and I was Chad's team manager on Maple. I definitely got made fun of for skating D3's. The Osiris crew had this very boisterous feel to it, and a lot of people rolled their eyes at it and didn't like it at all. The skate industry was very fragmented back then. Massive politics behind the scenes. They could've been a little more gentle about it, like awkwardly laughing about it instead of borderline sneering, but I feel for the most part they were just being honest. I would way rather have that than them retroactively pretending they were down for some thing that they weren't, ya know?
@meiphukingdiqq5 ай бұрын
@@jasondashney They ain't on team jack shit. They're a podcast doing interviews of skaters from every generation and who rode for every team imaginable. And they literally never pulled this shit on anyone before. Unlike you, I was actually around for that era, and NO, there was never any Osiris/Girl Chocolate beef. And a LOT of companies had that "boisterous" feel in the 90's. It was the hiphop era for fuck's sake. They literally just had Muska on recently and didn't pull that shit on him. What the hell is the matter with you?
