Kirchart, I grew up skating from mid 90’s to early 2000’s and you were widely viewed by me and all my buddies as one of the best skaters doing it. You, Jamie Thomas, Andrew Reynolds, Mullen, Song. You were in rare air, man. And I remember being like 14 and the Hook-Ups Tour came to our local skate shop, and during the open skate session you saw me land a fake 360 shove it and it was a highlight of my youth.

I met Tony Heath and Andrew on my 16th birthday. August 10th 1997 at drop in sk8 park. New Lenox Illinois. My buddy Toad asked Tony when gleaming the cube part 2 was coming out! Heath wrecked the pyramid n Tony did a blunt on the huge wall they had. They put a fun box on the top of the wall wedge. Tony's head was by the ceiling of the building. They had a bowl there n Tony did a hand plant right in front of me. I can still see the wheels spinning. When I got Heaths autograph, it was right after he did something huge over the pyramid and he sat down to take a break. He was outta breath. He gave it all he had that day n it showed! Thank you Heath for being one of the gnarliest sk8ers ever! I'm truly honored to have met you! Sk8 to live! Sk8 or die!

Heath, Andrew Reynolds, Brian Anderson, Daewon Song, Mike Carroll, Eric Koston, AVE, Stevie Williams, Josh Kalis, Marc Johnson, Stefan Janoski, Geoff Rowley, Keenan Milton and Jason Dill was the sickest Dream Team to grow up with who felt like the first generation of skaters who had both the success of the Bones Brigade and the first street pioneers in Gonz, Rodney, Kareem, Jovantae, Hensley, Cardiel, Danny Way, Jamie Thomas, Tom Penny, Pat Duffy Ray Barbee, Clyde Singleton and Ed Templeton to look up to and model themselves after when skateboarding still wasn’t entirely respected as a legitimate avenue to pursue in life.

There has never been and probably won't be again the epicness of a Heath part. The music choice, editing, slams, and tricks made his parts legendary, one of a kind, give you goosebumps type shit. The way he did it, his style and the amount of effort that went into a Heath part is unmatched. It was watching a man go into battle for the sake of the art of skateboarding itself. That's why we appreciate you.

There's something very refreshing and eerily freeing about listening to someone who's just out of the loop of trying to get everyone to like him or to try to be the best guest or anything, you can tell he's just as genuine as they come, thank you for this rare christmas gift! Truly one of the greats, even tho he doesn't look at himself that way.

I remember seeing that back tail backside flip out in an ad thinking skateboarding couldn't possibly get any gnarlier. And I still get that same feeling seeing the video today. Skating may have gotten more advanced, but Heath helped show that stuff was even possible; if something that insane is possible, a whole world of insanity opens up.

Heath’s one of my favorite skaters too. I have a similar personality type and if I had to guess he’s kind of a lone wolf personality or confident individualist. People with this personality tend to enjoy solitary time or with a tight knit crew and anything outside of that bubble is just perceived as noise. This also explains how he was an extremely successful skateboarder, but to him, all the attention is just noise bc he viewed it as just skating with the people he knows and doing what he loved doing at the time. It’s not always easy to be like this, bc some people perceive the solitude or unwillingness to engage as being stand offish, ungrateful for the success, or stuck up, so really happy to see so many supportive comments. Glad Heath decided to do the podcast, bc whether or not he sees outside of his past bubble of having fun skating with people he knows, tons of us watched him skate growing up and got inspired about pushing the limits of what’s possible to do on a skateboard, either in terms of our own personal skill sets or in Heath’s case, pushing the limits of what is physically possible for all humans during his time skating.

Skateboarding as a sport is hard for lifetime skater’s to understand. It is what “I” went to avoiding team sports I tried and I DID NOT enjoy. Skateboarding was MINE and there were others who enjoyed it as well. At 51 “WE” NEVER lose skateboarding; It’s in “OUR” heart and soul! It is great seeing it finally recognized in the big picture. I still kick around and collect like a madman because it soothes my soul. I went through injury, pain med addiction the whole gambit. Somehow I overcame all that a decade ago but still watch videos to see what’s hot and enjoy seeing the fire and spirit of the young one’s WE carry! Skateboarding changed and shaped our lives and NOBODY but skateboarder’s will get what I’m saying…#ShutUp&Skate#🛹❤️🤘🏻

Heath has been my fav skater since the first time I seen him on a 411VM box cover. He was like a stunt man on a board. And the fact he would stay so low key made him all the more interesting. I’m 39 now and seeing him finally do an interview has me just as hyped as I would have been as a 20 year old. Heath can deny being one of the best but he should def accept the fact that he was a huge pioneer in skateboarding. And that says a lot.

It’s funny how he doesn’t subscribe for the whole social media thing and Jason doesn’t understand. For a guy with no ego it hard to explain to a guy who is nothing but ego is hilarious to me. I enjoyed the conversation and happy that you guys got him on the show. The impression of Jason without words was spot on he made the eyes and face and head nod. Classic

That was amazing. Best skateboard podcast Ive ever seen and Ive seen a lot. I wish there could be more people as interesting, honest, blunt and humble as Heath. Made me laugh so much with his straight talking unapologetic persona. And I honestly believe he has no idea how great he was on a skateboard. It didn't matter how much Tony and Jason tried to tell him how he is most probably all skaters (pro or am or the rest of us) favourite skater he either didn't believe it or just didn't care. What a character.

This popped up on my KZbin feed, first time seeing this podcast/show. As someone who’s first video they watched as a kid was the end, kirchart is one of my favorites, like most. Great to see Heath in 2023, and not trying to be a hater, but this interview could’ve been so much better. Instead of spending an hour with him just going back and forth on why you’re aloof. You could’ve asked/talked about his Emerica shoes, how he got on Alien, did he ever feel like he was actually a part of “the workshop”, what boards he rides now, if he’ll ever put out any of the footage he’s got in some capacity since retiring, did he keep any of the coveted birdhouse decks/series, why he skated mostly at night, filming with Beagle, did he ever have a chance to ride for Baker, more in-depth questions about skateboarding in 2023 vs. skateboarding when he came up. I could go on and on, and hindsight is 20/20…but, actual fans of Heath would’ve been more interested in these questions and talking points.

Heath was a top dog in this interview.. What a legend... Elis should have been left aside for this one.. Although the story with him was gold... 😂😂

Keith, if you are reading this, I want you to know that you have had an influence on me more than any other skateboarder and this interview was the first episode of hawk vs wolf I have watched the entire way through. No offense to Hawk or Ellis. THANK YOU. You are the greatest of all time in my eyes.
