Yes was ancient Tricci , known as Trikala nowdays . Thessalia is a big religion pit of place in Greece ! But not the only one . Hellas full of History ! Central Hellas!

Greece is 80% mountainous, and one of the most complex geographies in the world. it's full with immense beauty and is a extremely diverse country. People go to Meteora because they heard about it. And with good right. But Greece is full with beauty and people literally know 1% of Greece's true beauty to which they base their vacation of. Go to some of the other 6000 islands aside of 20 world famous islands. But also go to the mainland. Go to so many regions in Greece that are a pure paradise for endless reasons. Greece has a level of beauty and consistent beauty and diversity that you can see and access all across the country like very very few countries have. Everywhere in Greece I can be in the mountains, sea, cave, archaeological site, lake, natural hotspring, nature, gorge, river, and more on a single day. In every corner of the country is this possible. Only very few countries have wonderful mountains or wonderful sea, of wonderful food, or wonderful culture and history, or wonderful climate, or wonderful nature, wonderful hospitable people. And yet Greece has all of it, and you don't have to travel 1000 km for the first mountains, or 800 km for the first sea or 300 km for the first archaeological site. In Greece you have it everywhere

Loved seeing your adventure! It felt like I was just there myself yesterday. My favorite moment was the morning I left - I had to catch an early morning train to Athens, and I just looked back up at the monasteries above me, so peaceful in the quiet pre-dawn hours, and it was just magical. I totally agree that if I were called to, I could absolutely live up there.
