AWESOME flight. Need better batteries :-) I flew Blackcap when marginally soarable. I did fly 20 miles tandem from down south at Summer Lake to about 5 miles short of Lakeview with a girl friend. That was fun. Flew my Varieze into Lakeview on the way home to Montana in 2011 from San Diego. I can't believe you made it to Abert rim and back : cool!

I've noticed you prefer left turns. Try to strike a 50/50 balance between left and right turns. Its like being ambidextrous.

what was your max height and how far in miles did you travel from takeoff point? and how do you know where to land? and what IS that beeping sound? GPS? and whats that cord hanging down on right side? are you ever afraid of not being able to descend cause of high winds? thanx. So Awesome!

All the stats and the flight can be seen on the paragliding forum link in the description. Launch was at 6,300', max height was 13,800, and landing was around 4,800. I did an out and return flight where I launched, flew about 22 miles north and then flew back and landed in the town below launch. (the return took a while as I was fighting a headwind, but there was beer and bbq and the landing zone so I was motivated to make it back) Once you're experienced enough to do a flight like this, you can assess safe landing zones from the air (there were lots... I don't need too much space) . The beeping sound is my vario which tells me if I am going up or down. The cord is called a vg cord (for variable geometry) It tightens and loosens the sail of the wing, changing the handling and gliding characteristics of the wing. I haven't been afraid of descending because of high winds. There are circumstances where lift can get so strong that decent is difficult. I have experienced that, but I wasn't scared as there was no risk... just a bit tired of having to spiral and pull in. There are times when that can be scary if there are thunderstorms causing that lift, but that is mostly avoidable and very foreseeable (if weather like that could develop). I luckily haven't experience that. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Christopher Carrillo, beautiful video! Thank you for the sky ride-along. I’ve been wanting to buy a hang glider for personal fun; I just recently became a hang glider enthusiast after watching great hang glider videos like yours. Could you point me to a place where I can fulfill this dream, buy me one, please? I’ve searched all through the internet to no avail. All I see on Google searches is links to flight training schools. I look forward to hearing back from you. In the mean time, you just won yourself a subscriber and gotten a thumb up; I wish I could give you multiple thumbs up.

My goodness. You're an OG flyer then :D. Back when nobody was sure if these things were even safe. Much respect. Sadly Chris has passed. He was a dear friend of mine and so I come back to these videos once in a while and it almost feels like he is here with us again.
