I did everything by the book all my life, my career, my marriage, my business and saw failure at the end of every road. And as I cling to the last thread of hope at 48 years of age wondering if it’s even worth another shot, he tells me “if you are watching this right now...”. And I take another breath and I know this, today, I get my second wind.

Just found Chad today you have to understand I'm a 66-year-old city boy from Texas when he says country folks they don't travel he means they're lacking in funds of the big city prices. I would never say they are poor it's a totally different lifestyle. I can say that cuz I just got back from New York City and LA and you want to talk about prices😅😅😅😅😅 but I've lived here in Austin for the last 40 years so

48:00 Shots fired at David Goggins. Easy to say from a guy that has both parents that supported him even when he was a bum. David Goggins didn't make it through budds first try. Yet he raised himself and still came back time and time again when many men with both parents quite round one. I respect you but that is just a shity thing to say about a guy that who has lived David Goggins life.

I get where Chadd is coming from ragging on the guys who went through Hell Week four times. Still, whoever chooses to keep trying and to give it another shot, being fully aware that a week of pain and absolute misery will await them at the end has to have some ungodly level of willpower and determination, if nothing else. Self-inflicted lack of preparation notwithstanding, this counts for something. In my view, you only have truly given up if you stop trying. Just a thought.

Is it me or were there several subtle shots fired at David Goggins here? If so, what’s the issue? I never took Goggins as “bragging” about his going through BUD/S several times. It’s more a testament to the fact that he never gave up. Just like how it took him two attempts to achieve the pull-up record. Also, the Stay Hard mentality never struck me as an extremely individualist view. Why is it under fire here? This was a great interview, however, the shots at DG seem unwarranted. Maybe what bothered me most is that he was never called out by name on a podcast about being real men. Just seems a bit weak and childish. If there’s an issue, air it out properly, not on some Secret Squirrel type BS.
@seekerecstacy70763 жыл бұрын
Mate i also got that vibe from Chad's talk..... Chad is great but David goggins is on another level when it comes to mental aspect. I think tough guys like Jocko,Chad etc don't like goggins because he never fitted well with Seal team. No disrespect to Jocko and Chad but Goggins had to overcome so many things in his life from his childhood to become arguably the hardest man alive.
@jeshurunabinadab65603 жыл бұрын
@@seekerecstacy7076 I respect Ryan, Chadd, Jocko, and a handful of others. But it was Goggins who initially shook me awake in a way that moved me to change my life. Without him I would not be in the proper mindset to even hear the message of the others. I don’t understand a guy like DG getting hate. More than that though, I don’t understand it being put out there in such a cowardly way. I would think a real man would say what he had to say and direct it at his target properly or not say it at all. Also, these shots were being fired alongside discussing God and Christianity? Again, I enjoyed the interview, but it left a bit of a bad taste due to the way DG was disrespected.
@seekerecstacy70763 жыл бұрын
@@jeshurunabinadab6560 I agree 100..... it breaks my heart when DG gets hate by tough guys and former seals like Chad and Jocko . But the thing is David doesn't give a shit😂 Chad is uncommon amongst common man but Goggins is uncommon amongst uncommon man...if that makes sense to you.....Stay hard.
@gregoryj69013 жыл бұрын
Another perspective is that going through BUD/S only once without needing to do it over, or be rolled back, etc. is a respect thing in the SEAL teams. It's said jokingly usually, but guys who make it through once without any problems have a bit more cred than guys who had to go through multiple times. It's usually said in jest, it's not that serious. So I think that's where he was coming from when he said "shouldn't be bragging about going through 4 hellweeks." Everything is a competition in that world.
@jeshurunabinadab65603 жыл бұрын
@@gregoryj6901 No question, they deserve that respect. Goggins just gets misunderstood from time to time, which leads to him being misrepresented, and it always rubs me wrong. Dude shook me in a way that changed my life, can’t help but speak up when he’s being discredited. Even in jest.
