The Clack Shack was the only other video I saw that used the xtool s1 with the ra2 pro and in his video he did the same thing as far as having to make a jig to hold the ra2 pro in place due to the tray moving. He mentioned he Perferred putting it right in the center and I noticed you put yours closer to the front. Did you find it hard to take the tumbler out or in some what bothersome in that area? Im getting ready to start using my xtool s1 for tumblers and watching both videos is helping me decide whats going to work best. Thanks for the video.
@chaddiy351210 ай бұрын
Hello, I do have my towards the front which has worked fine. Setting the jig in the center would probably be better if you plan on engraving all around the tumbler. The biggest difference with this is it is probably easier to layout your engravings in the software if you start with the laser head in the center of the machine. The s1 does a great job on tumblers...enjoy!

Hello. Great video! Can you share if the image was in grayscale and what were the lines per cm set to?
@keithsmith16429 ай бұрын
I just got my S1 with rotary tool. BUT, I hope I didn't screw up...all the influencers are using the 40 watt module. I went with the 20 watt because the laser dot is smaller and supposedly more crisp. Since you went with 100% at 500 speed, does that mean with the 20 watt I will need to do two passes to get the same quality as the 40 watt? I haven't seen any in-depth videos that discuss if the 20 watt or 40 watt is better/worse. Thanks!
@chaddiy35129 ай бұрын
Hello, I think you will be just fine with the 20 watt. You will just have to run it at a little slower speed but keep the 100 percent power. Have fun with your new laser!

@chaddiy35125 ай бұрын
Hello, I'm sorry to hear you are having issues. I have never gotten any lines on tumblers, but did a few times on business cards. I thought the issue was the card was moving a little bit from the air movement of the laser head back and forth. If you are using the rotory, I don't think that would be an issue. Maybe reach out to xTool customer support and ask them about it? That is a strange issue forsure...working fine on dark but not light. Good luck, let me know if you figure it out!

Enjoyed the video...Thanks! Just got mine and about to try my first tumbler :) Which smoke purifaction would you recommend for the S1?
@chaddiy351210 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoed the video. The S1 has been working great for me making tumblers. As far as smoke purifiers go, The one I have is a smaller one that is just ment for the Xtool F1. They do make a larger one that works with the P2, M1 and S1, so I think that is really the only option if you don't want to vent it to the outside.

Great video!!! Question: have you engraved a Yeti tumbler and was it exactly the same process as you just showed here on a non Yeti? Are there any settings that you might change with a Yeti vs a non Yeti??
@chaddiy35129 ай бұрын
Hello, I have never done a Yeti, but everything should be the same. Basically all colored tumblers are the same. Powder coated stainless steel. The brand really doesn't matter. Good luck!

@chaddiy35123 ай бұрын
Hello, I'm not sure what you mean by accessory kit, but to do tumblers, you will need the riser base and rotary for the S1.
@PinkWillowRanch20243 ай бұрын
@@chaddiy3512 there is an $80 accessory kit for the rotary tool. It looks like it helps the tumblers and items you’re engraving pivot.

i follow your video on how to set it up using the rotary on the s1 I have a tumbler that has a design on one side but not on the other side so I was doing it on the blank side and I framed it on the blank side but every time I go to start the process of laser engraving it rotates to the side with the design already on there. is there something I could be doing wrong?
@chaddiy35124 ай бұрын
Hello, sorry you are having issues. If it is framing, that is where it should be doing the actually engraving as well. You could try restarting everything and see if it works, or add painters tape to the tumbler and run a test at 1 percent power and see exactly where it is going to engrave. Good luck!

I have watched your video and the clack shack. Both videos are great by the way but my images keep being backwards. I did what the clack shack said and my images are still backwards. You didn't get that issue. How would I go about if I place an image in and setting it to where it does not come out backwards. There is no mirror step anywhere in the UI. Thanks for your time.

Hello, Sorry you are having issues! Could you miror the image in a photo editing program first and then import it into xtool creative space? I guess I have never had this issue before so I might not be much of a help.

How did you make that
@KristinaBenavidez-wo3vv6 ай бұрын
I noticed that you centered the image with the red crosshairs. Is this typical? This will be my first tumbler. I have only done flat wood engraving so far and I always placed the image in the bottom right quadrant of the crosshairs. What should I do?
@chaddiy35126 ай бұрын
Hello, you can actaully do it however you would like. The xTool S1 shows wherever the laser head is on the software itself. So if you want to put the cross hairs at the bottom left, you would just have to make sure the graphics you are engraving is above that crosshairs in the software. Always make sure you Frame it before you actually do the engraving. This way you will know if you have it correct or not. Good luck!

What was total time to engrave? I'm trying to figure out how many I can do in an hour, day, week etc. If all I were doing is tumblers. Not saying that's all I would do just trying to figure out how quickly I can pay for the S1 and if this is a viable side hustle.
@chaddiy351210 ай бұрын
Hello, I think this took around 7 minutes to engrave. I figure if you don't count the actual time designing in the software, it takes about 10 minutes per tumbler to get it set up in the chuck, leveled, and engrave. They are a lot of fun to do and turn out great!
@Nimariel10 ай бұрын
For primarily doing tumblers, it seems like the F1 might be the best XTool option (if you’re fine wearing the glasses). From what I’ve seen the best results come from doing two passes, one with the 20 or 40 watt and a second either way the IR. The F1 can do both quickly without needing to swap modules in between. That said, you can do the same a little more tediously with the S1, if you want a more versatile or safer device.

i have the 2w. would this be better than the 40w?
@chaddiy35125 ай бұрын
The 2 watt is an IR laser I believe for metal. I think most people would use the 40 watt alot more often if you had to only have one laser head.

@chaddiy351210 ай бұрын
Hello, I get them from hobby lobby and xtool
@billwatcher9321Ай бұрын
You did not set the material !! Xtool has on online library of recommended settings. If you would have set the material to "stainless steel tumbler" the software would have set your power to 10% and the speed to 120 for engraving. The engraving would have come out bright and shiny, not burnt looking. Not dissing on you, just a heads up from another user.

You “were not” tagged, no KZbin card, nothing in the description, not even mentioned in the voice over. I put a link below just in case you want to review the video.
