Finally!! A man who has common sense! I'm an older female but these vlogs from men in Phillipines started popping up. I keep asking why? Some of these men had their Financials I order and lost everything hooking up with someone 30-40 years younger. So what I'm seeing is older men moving to the Philippines to get lucky but end up to have a financial need to do a KZbin channel. One KZbinr is hooking up with an 18 year old and he's at least 50 or older. I mean...that's a P****

I agree. I'm 57 and have been married 3 times. No affairs just full on narcissism experienced from those 3 women. I had my part to play as well, I made mistakes. Never again will I get married. After my first marriage I lost everything and had to rebuild my life at 40. I live in Alaska and own my home and land that I built and improved over the years. I have to much to loose . I have peace now, no mind games or verbal and physical abuse goes on (3rd wife was an alcoholic and she'd get drunk and loose her mind, Next thing I knew she thought it was a good idea to use my head as a punching bag). I can travel when I want now. Go hunting and fishing all the time, do my hobbies etc...etc without the drama and fear of being abused and used.

Tampo is easy. The first time she goes tampo, tell her you are going for a walk on the beach and may go snorkeling and then maybe out to dinner. Tell her to text you when she is ready to talk but remind her that you won't have your phone with you when you are snorkeling. They would rather end tampo then wonder where you are and who you are with. Women do tampo to control you. You need to demonstrate that every time they do tampo, it will lead to a loss of control. No way does a Filipina want her boyfriend to be out for dinner somewhere without her. Yes, some Filipinas say they do tampo so they won't say something they regret. But remind them that they can carefully vet their texts before sending them. So Tampo should last 5 minutes not hours or days. Those are just about control.

My wife wanted to come to the states and find employment because she was the breadwinner and it just wasn’t happening in her country. She was honest upfront and I accepted her life mission. We got married and I brought her over. I found her employment and we were living very happily for 36 years until Covid took her from me. I have talked with lots of Filipinas about this topic. I promise you that even though all these other variables are involved including money… because of the cultural conditioning over the past 100+ years, they actually find us very handsome. Guapo. (I still look in the mirror and am flabbergasted by this!) I try never to underestimate the power of cultural conditioning. It can make human beings think and do anything. Far-reaching examples include incredibly good and caring human beings in 1930-40s Germany being convinced that one group of people are the complete problem of the country and world...and need to be eradicated completely.. If humans can be convinced to believe this, I think changing the perception of beauty is also possible. By the way, I'm not equating the two because one has such evil intentions, and what we're talking about here in the Philippines it's just a more natural evolutionary process...a temporary process. Do people take advantage of the situation? Absolutely. Some do. Us humans....just so....human-esque.

I have been in the most remote provinces in Southeast Asia and have seen four-year-olds on cell phones. It is out of control. But quickly realize what a great babysitter it is, I don’t know what the solution is. I was a teacher for 30 years and I saw it trickle into the classroom and the learning experience. Obviously, he hasn't figured it out yet. Women from the province can be more cunning, more diabolical, more sheisty. Oftentimes, their economic situations are more dire. So, they are more willing to win in life (in their minds) "by any means necessary!" Fellows: be careful with city and province women. Approach them all the same: with extreme caution! There are plenty of genuinely good women in the Philippines.... But they must be thoroughly vetted. Also know: like anywhere else in the world people are people: good, bad, and indifferent. That is correct. Stay single. Yet many fall into matrimony. But once you bring her to your western country and you are not wiling nor has the capacity to provide the money she hopes to possess, she is very willing to scrub toilet bowls day and night to have an independent income. Sooner or later, the poor family back home would move out from their shack in the hills to a bungalow in a city subdivision. That's the rule. "Paregner" seeker's path out of poverty. Btw, every rule has exceptions.

For most of my adult life I wanted a female partner who could talk about the many things that interested me. And I had that several times with female partners. It doesn't work. They lose interest in those things. People get jaded. Discussion gets replaced with eye rolls. So now I'm 5 years a hermit. Love it. No more watching the news and social media. My goal is to not even know President of the US. I've seen in movies a married couple who spoke different languages, no shared words. But they were happy. They were creating a family and wife handled the house and husband worked. They understood their roles. They didn't need each other to make them happy.

For others, who find traveling, except for an occasional vacation, tiring, we have different goals. Probably, we're not socialites, and like keeping to ourselves more. Maybe not exactly introverts, but need more quiet time away from strangers to recharge. That being said, no man should make finding a woman his primary purpose in life. For them, it may have the same purpose but I think some leniency should be given because it is so ingrained in the culture. That being said, I could not endure this type of behavior for a long period of time. When this has come up in the relationships I have been in, I do try to model more productive conflict resolution skills. And then I just make my request that she try another way to express her frustration or anger that will produce better results and actually what she is looking for. But it all starts with recognition and awareness of the cultural norms she has used to. But being perfectly honest, nothing has worked thus far when it comes to this issue. This only reminds me of the power of cultural conditioning and I certainly have my own. Example: pontification. My sermon is done. LOL

I heard this guy said he wasn't giving up his friends. If you're intention is to get into a long term, committed relationship, then you have to forgo the female friends. You're old enough not to be so naive and think that's entirely innocent. The same would apply for her and male friends. If neither of you are serious enough to make a commitment and be exclusive, then it just appears you're keeping all options on the table. Like you still _need_ female attention other than her. If you're getting messaged routinely by female friends, then you're the problem here, not her. I'm betting he's also combative about letting his girlfriend see the messages because he knows what it looks like. The sexual market place value isn't an equal playing field here and that's why he moved there. Just date casually, you're not mature enough at 63 to have a serious relationship. You grew older but you didn't grow up. What a wasted opportunity you have being there and you can't make up your mind and commit to it. You use the word perfect Filipina and there's at the heart of your misconception. They're human and have feelings, needs and wants just like you.

I saved up and bought a plane ticket to come to meet her. I asked her what sort of gift I should bring her from the US. She said she wanted a Bible written in English. I bought an engagement ring and her Bible. I went on a translator program and wrote my marriage proposal in Tagalog on the back page of the Bible. I'm one of the lucky ones. I had friends telling me I was crazy and could be being scammed. I knew better. There's nothing wrong with being single: you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and with whoever you want without the need to compromise or get agreement from anyone. For many people, marriage is not nirvana and it can be a financial trap for men with loss of personal freedom and even loss of assets. As for the much-vaunted 'beauty ' of Filipinas, this is a subjective judgment but for me (I've been to 80 countries and all Asian countries) only a minority of Filipinas are what I would describe as really pretty. The majority are very short and tend to look pretty much like the others. The best-looking ones are in the entertainment business or working as models, flight attendants etc. As for their character and personality (or lack thereof) most Filipinas that you meet online describe themselves as "simple." Which basically means they aren't particularly interesting and they have little knowledge about or interest in Western culture apart from what they see in movies or if they have travellled there. Unless they are highly educated and have top-tier professional jobs like doctors, lawyers, flight attendants, TV presenters, models etc (in which case they're not going to be interested in Western pensioners; you'll get the low-hanging fruit) most of them can only talk about their family (their number one priority, not you), job (or lack thereof), money (or lack thereof) and what they can see in front of their nose. As you will find out, many are poor communicators and cannot carry a meaningful, deep conversation. If that's what you're looking for. It's worse in the provinces with poor and uneducated "village chickens" as they're called. Your interviewee appears to be tired of dating Filipinas and in particular trying to find someone compatible as a communicator. It can be like a dog chasing its tail forever looking for the right one and realizing what you're looking for may not exist in the Philippines, or you statistical chance of meeting "the one" is probably very low and just a matter of random luck who you meet/encounter. Outside of those areas their general knowledge and experience is very limited. If that's okay for you, you'll find plenty who'll fit the bill. They're all looking for financial security including single moms and if you can provide that, including lifelong support to her family and children if she has any (and most of them do whether admitted or not), everything else about you (your education, age, intelligence, knowledge, hobbies, your witty sense of humor and communication skills etc) is secondary or of little to no importance. You are a subsitute for an employer and their number one interest in you as an older foreigner is your wallet/bank account and what the contents of that wallet and bank a/c can do for her and her family 😀 Finally, can you handle their 'tampos' i.e. silent treatment and petty jealousy? Yes it is juvenile and childish behavior but it just about sums up their level of maturity. The majority simply don't have the emotional maturity and intelligence to deal with conflict, misunderstandings or disagreements in a calm, mature manner working it out through discussion and logic as we do in the West - like adults. That is alien to them because their culture is so different to Western culture. If you're in your 60s or more and dating a young Filipina in her 20s you will find yourself in a relationship with an adult child. The novelty of receiving attention from a young woman can soon wear off when you find yourself sitting opposite each other in a restaurant mostly in silence yet again because you have no common interests to talk about. All that okay for you?

A good comment. Let me reply with a not so good one: Most women are adult children regardless of where they are from. Most women are either unwilling or incapable of rational argumentation in conflict, and often don't even have an interest in problem solving. Which is something men have to accept and deal with virtually always. Someone told me only after menopause do women grow up, and while I won't find out for decades yet, he was rather convincing.

Same with Vietnamese (and we met here, in the U.S.). 7 out of 8 year marriage was full of the silent treatment. Power play all day, every day. They know all you want is some peace at home, and that is the very last thing you will ever get. Things will only cool for a few days, or a week or two at most, when they want something from you (besides you already paying all the overhead bills). Always trying to keep you guessing and "on edge". Never letting you "get comfortable".

I once said on YT that I don't understand people who hook up with someone with whom they cannot communicate because of the language barrier. I got such a backlash. I think it depends on both of the people involved. I have seen incredibly happy foreigners with a Filipino wife and they just don’t need to communicate a whole lot. Maybe they are just really simple folk and they just enjoy each other’s presence and appreciate one another. I kind of envy that. But it definitely would not work for me.

This guy is sincere and self reflective. He would be a good bet for a sensible educated Philippina lady who happens to prefer a white American over a fellow Philipino guy. I think if he were prepared to accept average looks with an educated lady of around 45, maybe someone who missed marriage first time around. Philipinas have naturally sweet and harmonious personalities but they seem to lose the qualities which attract us to them if they live in America for a long period so he may find the ideal living in the Phillipines; and she him. I think if and when he decides to commit he would make a reliable and caring husband to the right woman, unlike the many.

Hello from Panama. I have to chip on my 2 cents. I was 12 years together with a Filipina in Canada. I did meet her in Canada. She lived their many years. The TAMPO shit isn't going out of their head! Controll freaks to 100%. It got worse when I had a work related accident. Didn't work anymore. She came home from office and it started: "What did you do all day? And on. Taking my phone. Checking the computer. It got that far that she threatened to kill me. That's when I had finally enough of this shit. I'm cured for the rest of my life. No Filipina is coming into my house anymore. And I am not on Tinder or what ever APP is out there. I just want my peace!

It is NOT just ladies from the Philippines who act this way. I have been married for 41 years. Since my CHINESE wife retired she is not the same person I married. She is now 74 and I am 72. 1) Complains every time I have a cigarette even though I smoke outside the house. 2) Complains I am an alcoholic even though it takes me THREE months to drink a litre of Vodka. 3) Covers the kitchen tiles with pieces of cardboard so they don't get wet. 4) Urinates in a bucket so she can "water" the garden. 5) Argues about stupid things every time I drive somewhere. 6) I cannot empty the dirty bath water as she "wants" to use it to flush the toilet. 7) Always complains about what I buy when I do the grocery shopping. 8) Hoards everything and anything so now I cannot even access the inside of the shed. 9) Spends hours in the garden but hardly does any housework. 10) Have to cover the walls of the cooking area with cardboard in case I splash cooking oil or food 11) Countless times saying I am stupid or useless. 12) Verbally aggressive and argumentative. I feel at the end of my tether and even though I am getting on in years I think maybe it is better to die alone than live a continual life of stress and strive. If I divorce and travel overseas would I ever want female companionship again?? The answer to that is a resounding NO.

@stevenhull5025 Sorry to hear that I am not alone. I think I mentioned it. I was 12 years married. When I got the news that my wife does sleep with around 80 men in the village, I just asked her if this is correct. Her answer? "That is not your business! " So I got a divorce. Lost everything. In Canada I thought like you. No woman in my house. It worked 2 years. Again. She got crazy. And I mean crazy. Filipina who lived over 20 years already in Canada. I had to call a couple times the police. And I stupid guy thought always of couples like you and your wife. I just thought every day: How can they be 40 years married and I can't get it right. I didn't drink, no gambling, no drugs. Worked my ass off again to provide. When she threatened to kill me with a big kitchen knife, that was the turning point for me. She threatened even my son,27 at the time, who was visiting us from Germany! "Dad! What are you doing? Get rid of her or just move on!" So I called police and explained that I would leave Canada in November 2019. The officer looked her name up and suddenly said: "Sir. I personally will call you 3 times a day until you leave, to make sure that nothing happens to you!" One evening. My girlfriend was arguing again with me. Phone rings and she got the call. "Police service. I like to talk to Holger. You are under surveillance, ma'am!" She looked at me with big eyes. I took the call. One week later I was at the airport. Another 12 years wasted. Now in Panama, the story is different. Older women are mostly single because Latinos like young women! My girlfriend is from Colombia. She is my age. Nothing young. I don't need to raise another kid. When my girlfriend has her crazy 2 minutes, I say to her that she can hit the road if she does not like it! I honestly should have done that 40 years ago! - Hopefully you get your head free and peace from your wife. I couldn't stand her behavior 14 days!

Thanks for that excellent content; wonder if too many expats don't realize that they themselves look older after fifty, just like the PH girls look older after fifty. But isn't it about living out sort of a dream, a last gasp of youth, to find a youthful female? I will bet that only about 10% of expats are "successful" in such a venture. Maybe older men should be hoping for "freedom from relationship stress and conflict" ? So, stay single and free! (Or, get a loyal dog if you feel lonely).

I truly don't understand men trying to find women with "ambition". Amibtion to be what? A corporate slave? If a qualification for finding a Filipino woman is that she has a job, you need to get your head on straight. At TOPS, the average salary there will equal 20% of your salary, and that's optimistic. Also, in order for her to achieve even just that level of money, she'll have to spend more than 8 hours a day at the office and a few hours of daily communte through the brutal city traffic. So yeah... she'll be quite unavailable. No matter what her situation is, if you're looking to have a meaninful relationship with a woman in the Philippines, she WILL be a financial burden and that is a fact that you must except as a Westerner. Unless of course, you're lucky enough to find someone from a rich family, but ironically, they often scoff at foreigners because they often see them as someone who the "poorer" folk chase after,.
