bro u r saving my LIFE in o chem rn. I passed o chem 1 with your videos and just starting o chem 2, and your videos break things down, put them in tables for reference, etc. I love you style of teaching. thanks so much!

The IR stretching frequency for C=O stretching in carboxylic acid chlorides, esters amides, and acid anhydrides generally ranks as: a. Acid chlorides> esters> acid anhydrides> amides b. Amides> esters> acid anhydrides> acid chlorides c. Acid chlorides> acid anhydrides > esters> amides d. Acid anhydrides> esters> acid chlorides> amides

esters > ketones/aldehydes > amides Unfortunately, this is probably all you'd derive from my lesson. Aldehydes tend to absorb a little higher than ketones. However, with the Cl being the strongest withdrawing group acid chlorides have the highest absorption followed by acid anhydrides. Not for exactly the same reason (but similar) but you'll find the trend here follows the same trend in reactivity as electrophiles. I am actually set to refilm this lesson with its replacement later today. I'll make a point of touching on this. Thanks for the question!

Thank you for your wonderful videos they really are helpful. So what if I don’t get one broad peak from 2500-3500 but more than one individual peaks on that same range?

Aldehyde will have higher wave number since ketone has higher +I effect due to to more R group

This is a good video, but you talked so fast. I had to keep stopping the video and read the caption to see what u were saying. I tried to put it to .75 speed but then there was an obnoxious echo and lag
