You're the man, Chad! So many people have accomplished their goals with your help. Thanks for what you do; I am using your Organic Chemistry playlist this trimester. 101 in General Chemistry 2 with your master course last trimester.

Hello, If in bromobenzene, hypothetically we broke the C-Br bond heterolytically to do SN1, if I understand this video correctly then bromobenzene would form an aromatic carbocation intermediate that would be highly stable. However, according to other sources I found online, phenyl carbocations are extremely unstable and are a highly rare and transient intermediate. Was wondering if you could clear this up for me. Thank you so much.

im confused about the part about the most acidic carbon

When you say that the aromatic CB is weaker than the non aromatic CB and therefore the first non aromatic acid is stronger. How are you reasoning this? Aromatic CB is more stable? Also you are amazing

Hey Salvatore! When we say the CB is weaker it means it is less reactive and therefore more stable. The key in the aromatic CB is that aromaticity is a particularly stable form of resonance which makes a more stable/weaker base. And thank you, you are also amazing :)

OMG, I’m sorry for looking like I’m rude - I’m respectful, actually - but I realised that one way of teaching is when someone proudly presents the scientific results as they were their own original ideas, while other ones are teaching it by impersonating the elements of nature as cartoon characters with some intent, personality (“Oh, this Mr Atomic Core is so handsome” - said Miss Electron). Should I have enough knowledge to teach, I would teach science as if I, myself, would be trying to mentally cope with the inherent nonsense of the entire discoverable reality on every single working day of my life as a teacher...

Why in acidity 8 pi electrons are non aromatic Its conjugated Planer Sp2 Follow 4n It should be antiaromatic

And in first one ( acidity) non aromatic after removal of H convert into aromatic CB But 2 nd one non aromatic after removal of H convert into non aromatic why??( It has already 6pi electron+ lone pair= 8)
