@dyschromotopia4 жыл бұрын
precision & timing is honed by activity, hitting the right spot also requires speed of punch, judging the distance & reading opponents' moves. conor was so effective because he had the edge in all of these factors & they will all be absent when he next fights because of his inactivity & , on top of that, these will be further diminished by the weight he is fighting at. i want to hear how conor can win, how he can beat anyone of significance at this weight. he looked slow & cumbersome, full of ring rust & predictable against the leg squeezer. my money is on cerrone who won't be worried about kicking because he knows he won't get taken down & he is pretty damn good on the ground anyhow, surely cowboy's tactics will be to kick for a round to slow conor....he'll want to try & ko conor but he'll know that if he takes him down, he can submit him.

Lukas Maier i can’t believe we’re questioning his power when he stunned/dropped Diaz numerous times at 170. And even before the loss to diaz he was putting in good work too
@kniviz5104 жыл бұрын
@@jwinston1995 he dropped Nate but never stunned him. Nate was never seen walking backwards trying to avoid Conor. In Nates last fight he could not take Masvidal's power, and was constantly "running" away. Like Chael said Conor is a 155'er who weighs in at 163-165 on fight night. But in welterweight weighs in at 165-167 on fight night.... While Nate probably came in at like 185-190 he's the naturally bigger man. So Conor simply did not have the power/strength to hurt Nate. Conor can't fight in welterweight being that light.

With combat there is a point of diminishing returns for size. It seems that the perfect weight for a combat athlete is 240-250. A 240 pound man with training can knockout or takedown just about any human on Earth. But there are outliers, in the sense of Deontay Wilder who weighs 212 and hits harder than Ngannou. Or a 300 pound lineman that can run under 5.0, and has 36" of vertical. I think 265 is a perfect cap. On the other hand, I don't like the jump from 205 to 265. There are many fighters who would fit in the gap that can't compete at heavyweight and are too big for light heavyweight.

Does it seem to anyone like Chael's fans kind of mimicking him in the way they talk and in his mannerism, or is it just me?

They are quite a bunch of weirdos in my opinion. With due respect.

My favorite lines on the mic are mostly Mark Hunt. Not necessarily the individual lines, but the sheer BREVITY of his comments always cracks me up.

I played hockey at the college level and could tell you that those nights where I wasn't feeling well I still went out and played. The adrenaline flowing through your body is strong enough to make you pretty much forget about being sick...but there were only 2 times in my career I couldn't play...one was from an injury, concussion headache....and the other was a fever of 102.6 that wouldn't go down a single degree....so I tried to play the first period and could barely pay attention to the game and it became dangerous

The reason we see koing and submissions as a true win is because those are the positions where in real combat you would kill your opponent or brutally mangle them before you kill them.
