Nen reflects the user's emotions, if one were to create a half-assed restriction in hopes of making a hatsu stronger/more effective they would certainly fail. Look at Shizuku's Blinky, it can't suck anything alive so it makes it far more effective in specific situations.

but however, you can make half-assed restriction if you perceive it as a real downside, just like Kite random weapon who only have good rolls, but Kite hate not chosing his weapon, so that's a real downside in his eyes, but in fact it's an half-asssed restriction. edit: i just wanna point out Phinks is not as strong as some people think, rotating his arm is an half-ass restriction and while it's strong, it have nothing to do with the restriction, it's just like a jajanken and yes Jajanken is crazy strong, but nowhere near infinite as some people seem to think.

We know at least a third chain ability: The chain he used on himself to make a covenant: it applies a condition and if that condition isn't respected, it kills the user. That's neither the lie detector one nor the chain jail. There are two remaining ones though that we don't know about yet. What I love about this episode is that while the shadow beast underestimate Uvo, they are quite capable and as Machi pointed out, had the dog one used a lethal poison, they probably would have killed Uvo despite being weaker. But their weakness was that as opposed to Uvo who's a pure fighter, the shadow beast are mafia hitmen. They're very strong of course but they're used by the dons to intimidate and torture people because combat is the mafia's last recourse. Even if violence is the only option, the mafia will go for assassination before it goes for combat. Uvo clearly always goes for combat so he's more experienced.

I love the Phantom Troupe's complex inter-relationships. They're some of the best villain antagonists in any sort of media in my opinion. They're extremely loveable (to me) as well.

@@simplethings749 actually the phantom troupe are not that much stronger then the shadow beasts. Uvo almost got killed by 4 of them so that implies that he's just 4x stronger then a shadowbeast. Feitan couldn't take al 6 of the shadow beasts so one other member took down the other 2. Yea they are still way stronger but the power scaling differnce isn't that big
