People don’t understand that the mind and the hands need to be busy and creative. We don’t spend every waking moment staring at our phones as reality passes by. We create. Too bad so many question why, instead of celebrating the mechanical and artistic aptitude. Excellent job my friend! Keep your mind young and your hands busy. When these critics have jello for brains from facebook and twitter, they will be wishing they did creative stuff like this. Rock on bro! Nice work!

Already have one called a “log wizard”. Saw manufacturers also make an attachment just like this. But he made his own. I like his style. We had one we used to taper log ends to insert into fence posts. Very useful for property owners.

I've seen this before. About 25 years ago at a logging trade show in Prince George B.C. Canada. But it was being used for peeling logs and cutting notches for log house building. They also left the bar chain exposed so they could cut logs too. Nice home build Darek.

You definitely did something amazing, and you’ve probably had your fair share of critiques and criticism. But listening to that bog down, it’s struggling to keep up. First thing I was told when buying my chain saw was “you can always go down in bar size, but avoid going up beyond what this is designed for. If you go up you lose power” maybe if you would’ve gone down in bar size, you’d save and gain a little more power, cause that thing sounded like it was starving for power with all the extra weight added. Although it works very well from the test runs you were doing. So in conclusion, amazing engineering and thanks for showing us.

I used a commercially made one for imitating hand hewn logs at a local number company I worked for. It's labled as a log debarker and they're available for about $170. It attaches directly to the bar of the chainsaw. Nothing new but it's cool you that made your own. Try a longer bar if you have that option because I can tell you that using that thing for hours sure made my back ache, lol!

Be sure to tie the far end of that axle back to the frame (form a triangle) with another piece of steel. That 90 degree welded connection to the frame at the chain bar is under a lot of stress and likely to fatigue crack and fail, taking with it your wide blade guard and everything else. That doesn't look like something you want to have crawling up your arm at several thousand RPM...

A couple of observations: Very ingenious. This guy really hates little stumps. He needs to layoff the caffeine. Movements that quick can’t be healthy. 😁 I find a chain and my Jeep Wrangler make a good landscaping tool. Might have to find and cut one or two roots near the surface, but these size stumps could be pulled.
