Oak, one of my favorites. It's hard, durable and stands up nicely to the weather. The hardness of Oak makes it excellent for carving in fact because it holds detail well, instead of tear outs like with pine and such. The fun thing is, fresh Oak is great to carve, it's still relatively soft, but will turn rock hard when dry. Oak has tannin in the wood so you can darken it naturally with rusty water, or apply a stain with works great as well. Oak furniture will last decades outside.

Thx man! I would suggest starting with the smallest Stihl or Husqy saw available, get it converted to run 1/4" chains and start to make some small carvings to get a feel of the techniques. Also a bit easier on the wallet because it's an expensive hobby! When you get the hang of it, invest in a larger saw to upgrade your work. And always, SLOW and SAFE, it quite a lethal hobby if not careful.

Mick Tree the song is "Ambient Guitars" by Mike Oldfield. Found via Shazam on my Android phone, and man that app is a lifechanger - no more "what IS that song? Who does it?" moments. Just bought my first chainsaw, more for cutting firewood out of the two white oaks we recently had taken down by pros, but I have aspirations to cut some of it into outdoor furniture. Nothing quite as complex and beautiful as this just yet, but perhaps someday I'll get there. Scoop seats and a simple table for around the firepit for now! Great work on the poster's part!

Bad tasteless good technical skill but bad art taste there are too many decorative oak leaves if it have less oak leaves and it is more better designed then its is more estetical and pleasure to watch also this color contrast is to strong and its better to have shades then it looks more natural
@easyrider5549 жыл бұрын
Good point, but so is the Art: It's not nice what is beautiful, beautiful is what you like. Beauty is in the eye of the viewer's. I hope you understand my poor english
