Episode two of the second season of idiots with chainsaws and tree fails is already here for your entertainment, enjoyment and education!
You don't cut a tree like that!
ATTENTION! Never try tree removal, tree cutting or tree felling as it is performed in this video. Always remember that hiring a professional lumberjack or arborist is much safer and cheaper.
No one is neither dead due to the circumstances occurred in the video, nor has suffered any serious injuries for the same reason.
Enjoy and comment on your favourite piece!

This is why you hire the pros. many of these were preventable. Working in the tree service business, these videos are satisfying and actually a good lesson on safety. Trees are unpredictable and you can never take them for granted. There's a reason tree work is the 2nd most dangerous job in the US. People die everyday doing this worldwide, many of the deaths come from DIY professionals that cut some firewood before so they try think they can take on a tree. Stay safe!

Oh and whenever I see a ladder and some guy with a chainsaw I cringe! If you have to use a ladder at least put it behind the tree to act as a barrier and reach around and cut it. Ropes would work too, or even a quick undercut then come from the top. do people not think its going to swing around and sweep them off the ladder lol

Oh Lord. Most of these people have no clue. Trees will screw you over quick and it takes time to study the tree to determine how to get it down and where it's going to go. I love how the first guy thinks he's gonna guide an 8,000 pound tree down. He's like, "I got this".

I'm so glad I grew up in the country learning to fell dead and problematic trees. I know my limitations and my saws capabilities. I've been cutting back water oaks down here in Florida, talk about widow makers! At least up north pines are somewhat predictable and hard woods have good grains in them so they can hinge, twist and be manipulated without the base crippling while your delimbing even the smallest branch or pulling down chads!

Isn't most of this simple geometry? If a tree is X feet tall, then if there's anything within X feet (plus extra allowances for important factors, like height measurement error, tree condition and shape, slope and bouncing etc.) If one one fells it all in one go, there is a possibility that anything within range will get fucked-up. Anyone can make a mistake, all one can do is to try one's best not to. Felling a tree that might weigh many tons is a serious endeavour. That has to be one of the many reasons that experienced arborists will often cut a tree down in sections.
@wizardsuth
@wizardsuth 7 ай бұрын
Depending on the face cut and the speed at which the tree falls it can be thrown some distance from its base. You need to allow for more than the tree's height.

The vid at 1:10 is really upsetting to me, that could have been fatal, and easily prevented. The cameraman cared more about getting his shot than a human life. All it takes is one guy watching and talking to the guy pulling to prevent that. I feel the cameraman is a worthless human. BUT to be fair it looked like a possible disaster even if it went right. Looked like the limb over the home might have got caught on its way over, who knows, GET A HARD HAT, better than a broken brain, even if there's not much of them,
