In December of 2020, Tatsuki Fujimoto published what was thought at the time to be the final Chapter of his masterpiece Chainsaw Man. But at the end there was a little tidbit stating that this was only the end of Part 1 in a story who knows how long. And after a well deserved 570 day break, the beginning of Chainsaw Man Part 2 or Chapter 98 was published. Since then it has been an amazing ride, but a crazy one at that so let's take a step back to find out what makes Chainsaw Man Part 2 click.

CSM part 2 has been incredible. I have met people that stopped liking part 2. Its written even better than part 1 honestly. Especially reading all of Fujimotos other work, part 2 has been great

I think the csm church arc has pretty big flaws, the main one being that Asa's whole time as a hero and chainsaw man church member was almost completely offscreened. The writing of Denji's character in part 2 is genuinely amazing though and the church handles his writing incredibly well. I think Nayuta is also explored in a fantastic way in this arc. I wouldn't say part 2 is better written than part 1 but there are changes in part 2 that I think are objectively better.

For the Denji spinal cord bit, I didn't interpret it as Denji simply not reciprocating the same feelings as Asa, but just the fact that he is already a walking weapon. A chainsaw. But I could be wrong

That's a good interpretation. It's kind of he's a person on the outside, feeling emotions like a person would but maybe on the inside he's not really Denji; he's more chainsaw man.

Honetly I was one of the people thinking Yuko was Denji. Anyway I love how you were able to talk about denji's character because I had a hard time trying to explain it to myself and I'm glad you were able to explain it, same with Asa's and Yoru's actions. I also hope Barem is back but I still don't know if he can get back up from all of that, but he is menacing.

Yeah I think it’s because Denji is already a weapon and idk why Nayuta couldn’t control him sounds like an ass pull but I like it bc control devil is way to over powered like how gojo was in jjk story

I absolutely love part 2. Part 1 was cool, but so fast paced that I got lost in what was going on. Part 2 takes its time and has fun and is a lot easier to follow.

Personally i think there is a chance that Death Devil being the ''king of terror'' from the prophecy is a red herring and the actual king of terror will be Yoru. Famis plan to prepare them to be strong enough to stop the king of terror could dramatically backfire and end up creating the king of terror itself as Yoru has no interest in fighting the devils at all she just wants war and chaos. In my opinion thats what the rest of Part 2 will mainly be about. It will end with Yoru potentially having caused WW3 and maybe even having it be a nuclear war causing insane devastation and chaos until Denji eventually kills her at the end, but all that chaos and devastation will set the stage for part 3 as war brings chaos and humanity having to repair all the loses after a war naturally follows resource shortages and famine... which would make Fami potentially the strongest devil on earth after the war has ended and setting the stage for Part 3 where Fami will be the main player. I dont wanna buy the whole ''theres not gonna be other parts just because all the horsemen were introduced or mentioned already''. So far it seems pretty clear that War is the main focus of this part so i still think its very likely that they will all have dedicated parts about them and this part doesnt necesseraly need to conclude everything other than Yoru's stuff.

I wouldn’t say it’s amazing but the characters are strong I don’t really love Asa bc she has charcter development but it doesnt really change her character but I love her dynamic with Denji because both of them grow with each other I even like them more than power and Denji. the story is really slow which I do love bc we still have those crazy highs with having heavy charcter driving plots so I would rate it a 7/10 rn and some days a 8/10 but part 1 was a 10/10 part 1 had a better pace, villians, moments and arcs and side characters but part 2 has a better Denji and main cast of chsrcters and side villians and mystery also plot

I like part 2, but I have to respectfully disagree. It isn't holding my interest or pulling my heartstrings anywhere near what part 1 did. Fujimoto is getting tired, and it's showing in the art, writing, and chapter length. Wish he would take a break, or just hire an artist (as he has expressed he's only interested in the story and not so much the art at this point). Part 1 of CSM was one of the most emotionally gripping pieces of media I've ever engaged with, and part 2 feels just...ok. Maybe if I read it all in one go instead of week to week, I'd like it more, idk.

I read de manga weekly, but i think that's the worse way to do it. Because 22 pages that u can read in less than 5 minutes, i think is not the best way to immerse in a story. The way to take is read the manga after is done or buy directly the manga.

Honestly, I liked it way more than Part 1. I'm not here to shit on your opinion and all, but I just don't like any of the characters in Part 1. When Himeno died I was surprised since I found her cool, but, she was supposed to be a surprise, one of the first few deaths. I didn't care for Power, or Aki, or Makima, or any of the unnamed other characters like the few hunters that died in the Katina man arc, etc. The only characters I've liked so far are Asa, Yoru, Denji, Miri Sugo and Reze. And frankly, only 3 of them are in Part 1. One of them didn't have a single line of dialogue other than in the hybrids' introduction, the other was hardly used, and the other is literally the protagonist themselves. Part 2 hit me pretty hard tbh. It felt like a pretty great story and I loved it up to now, but lately I can notice that it isn't as good as it used to be back in the first few arcs we had. But to be frank, Part 1 was like that too. IA was kinda okay, Gun Devil was disappointing, and Control Devil arc was good, but it wasn't anything I've liked so much. Dating Denji arc and the first arc of part 2 just hit me pretty hard, and I loved them a lot. Might be because I read them straight before going and reaching the weekly chapters, so, I suggest yeah, reading it after it's all released. I loved it so much to be honest.
