The man dressed as a Pharaoh is supposed to be King Tut, a character who first appeared in the 60s Adam West show. The man who helps Batman defeat Gentleman Ghost is Linton Midnight, a character from the John Constantine comics.

They couldn't use King Tut's name (villain or real) due to copyright reasons, but the reference is still obvious.

The scariest Harley Quinn EVER. Seriously, could you imagine if this Harleen Quinzel was featured in "Batman TAS", instead of the one we all know and love? She would have haunted the nightmares of so many children.

@@NakedSnake1836 wonder if they’re gonna have Zatanna be Bruce’s main love interest in this. Since they don’t want to do the same thing as BTAS, and do the opposite of what we expect. So maybe Bruce doesn’t have Selina as his main love interest but instead it’s someone else.

@@josephdent6825 Somehow I don’t think they’ll immediately have Batman form a relationship with anyone possibly until either late of the second season or even a season 3. Either way he might be given the same treatment as BTAS that regardless of how many women he has, none of them will be Batman’s true love.

The most disturbing part of Harley’s design I’d have to say is the eyes. Those aren’t joyful or crazy eyes. They’re cold and dark. It works for her.

Every one? Commissioner gordon is now black. Seems a bt racist to imply that this improves the character. The Penuin has been replaced by his chunky sister. That improves tha character how? Harley Quin is now on a crusade against rich white guys. That improves the character how? Montoya is now a rectangle. that improves the character how?

From.what he said. Also adding Barbara is a lawyer. That doesnt improve her. That makes her someone else. Shes the daughter of the Commishinor a lobrarain i. Some sroeys and Batgirl/oracle later in life. A lawyer to gonagainst Dent no. Also the sloght against males to prop up femalw in the wrong way us happing way to much nowadays

This series was far better than I expected and went dark in a different way. Usually they just up the stakes but in this it seems DC has decided instead of viewing them like gods let’s make the characters more relatable.. 👏🏾great job Batman Caped Crusader

I really liked this take on Harley 💚💛 The gentleman Ghost episode was a lot of fun too and had a much needed Alfred/Bruce bonding.

This wasn't a ruse, Harleen is genuine for Barbara and Renee. She's doing her own style of justice in warping those who are rich and don't care for those "below them" like Bruce does. It saddens me to see what Barb and Renee have to go through. Maybe I'm a bit confused thinking was the guy in the baby outfit was to smash the king so that he'd be pudding or does Harley have actual pudding. I was thinking he was going to cannibalize, and we find the other guy is alive but maimed. This was still a very scary moment for me. Her music cue takes me back on Frederik Weidmann's score for Beware the Batman where there'd be cues for the villains popping up. Definitely recommend that cartoon when you're done.

I love that Harley's origin story is basically the same just without the Joker. Instead of the darkness of the Joker twisting her mind it was just a buildup of all of her patients craziness transferred to her

Harley Quinn steps into the lime light in this episode. Love the fact that this series makes her her own villain & really plays to her psychologist background which was basic a throw away in the BAS. Great development & growth for a great character.

@@taurus3731 Let me guess, by historically you mean sometime in the last ten to fifteen years in some activist handbook that no one bought because the story was ass. Harley comes from TAS and has "historically" been protrayed as the very straight and very abused girlfriend of the Joker. Even the often cited Harley-Ivy dynamic started out as partners in crime and platonic friends.

@@Alexander_KaleMontoya has been written as being gay in the comics for over 20 years now. And Paul Dini has said his intention was always to pair Harley up with Ivy.

What has become my biggest hot take for the show is that I don’t really like this version of Harley, but I like the character…but not her as Harley. All the other villains while different have semblance to their classic versions, there’s almost nothing Harley about this Harley. She feels more like a genderbent Hugo Strange mixed with Paul Dano’s The Riddler (it also done help that because this Harley is Asian (which isn’t a problem) she also resembles a female Hugo Strange).

Tbf this is what Bruce Timm intended for Harley in the first place. So I’m happy that we got to see his version of Harley.

I feel like her personality when she's being a therapist is very true to Harley. The scene with her Barbara and Montoya at the diner talking about Jim really cemented that for me. She was trying to be the upbeat fun one in the group and they got annoyed. That's harley. At least in my opinion

If not familiar with linton midnight aka papa midnite he is from Constantine comics and even the live action show. Depending on situation he can be an ally or enemy.

I’m ngl I wasn’t really happy Harley’s design in this show but that’s just me. I will say I love gentlemen ghost’s design in this show. Obviously favorite is his design Batman brave and the bold, but this design is a close second
