Like the others have said, "I Feel For You" (1984) is what Dave Chappelle quotes. My favorite song of hers is a deep funk tune she did with Rufus, called, "Tell Me Something Good." (1974) That song was written by Stevie Wonder with Chaka Khan in mind.

Yep, Tell Me Something Good would be an outstanding song for Biz to review. 🔥 More funk than a dumpster at Denny’s.

Chaka Khan and David Foster...both one of a kind artists. This, by far, is Chaka's best vocal arrangement! The phrasing, tonal quality and passion in this ballad is unmatched! A Night In Tunisia, Whatcha Gonna Do For Me and I Know You, I Live You by Chaka are some of her other great vocal moments! She's got so many!!!

I love her!!! Thank you for your review. I forgot all about this song. Saying her name like that is from the song "i feel gor you" with Rufus. Classic Chaka Khan. "Ain't no body love me better" and "I'm every woman" next please.❤

Hahaha, I always say her name the same way...Chaka Khan Chaka Chaka Khan! You HAVE to listen to her song "I Feel for You". Their is a DJ that repeats her name Chaka Khan Chaka Chaka Khan. That is where Dave Chappelle probably got it from. I remember seeing her many times on tv, and they always did the repeat of her name like that. It was so upbeat and fun. Please go listen to that video!

Check out her hit Papillon (Hot Butterfly). Lol Chappelle got that from her song I Feel For You, a rapper repeats her name before she sings.

Man used to jam to her in the mid 80s in Jr High School but to I feel for you. Jermaine Stewart- we don't have to take our clothes off. It's sad he passed away before his song made the top charts. Great song

Lots of good Chaka Khan. Beyond more obvious suggestions, try, "might moods", "this time", "twisted", "any old Sunday", "best in the west". And if you don't know already, she was the lead singer for Rufus before she went solo. If you don't get to anything else of theirs, you have to try, "tell me somethin' good" (though there's plenty of good Rufus too). While I was writing you talked about the "Chaka Khan... Chaka Khan...". That's from a Prince cover she did, "I feel for you". If you haven't heard that you should. Get ready for dancing in your seat, if you can stay seated.

This is my #2 of hers. If you want a lesson in texture, treatment, and knowing how to build a song, then just dropping you, leaving the listener spent, listen to "Everlasting Love".

You need to react to “ I Feel For You” , rapper Grandmaster Melle Mel says her name over and over again in the song . And it’s a 1984 cover of Prince’s original from 1979, and it has Stevie Wondor playing the harmonica. It was a huge hit back then …

The problem I have with some hip-hop artist is that they don’t give credit to the old school soul and Funk music James BrownRSP, said the same thing about Hip Hop artist and he liked Prince because because prince always gave him props,

Young lovers of rap have be educated when it comes to Chaka Khan, if you don’t know where the saying “ Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan” comes from , them you are officially young, and I am officially old as hell 😂! Wow! I can tell just by the lack of KZbin reactors who haven’t yet heard of Chaka Khan , and are surprised when they hear this song, after only hearing Kanye and Through The Wire . Look up Chaka Khan and also Rufus, the group that she was lead singer of in the 70’s before she went solo, surely you have heard Mary J cover the Rufus and Chaka classic “ Sweet Thing”, or is that old now , too 😂.
