If I connect my phone to the Airpods, would I be able to access the same playlist and control the music through my Apple watch without using my iPhone(staying connected through GPS). No. As long as it is connected to your Phone using Wi-Fi, it can receive calls.

in GPS version you need your phone in the watch range to be able to receive or make calls whereas in cellular version you don't need a phone near your watch (can simply make or receive calls without phone nearby).

You can and should be able to attend calls when connected to your phone with Bluetooth. May be check what happens if you open the Phone app in the watch? Can you make a call from the watch?

There's no physical button for the lock. You can actually put your palm on the watch screen and hold there.Also there is lock option in the control center. Swipe up for the control center and look for it.

Guna Sekaran yes. I just asked an Apple specialist via chat on the Apple website. She confirmed you can as long as your iPhone is connected to a carrier, and connected to your Series 3.

How do you make the call ring on your watch just vibrate?

Go to the control center (swipe up while on the watch face) and tap the bell icon. It’ll turn red and there will be a line going through it. That means silent mode is on and all notifications including calls will just vibrate and not make sound.
