Nah… mentally that’s david vs Goliath matchup. 49ers escaped GB & DET, the Chiefs don’t let teams come back they are SB champ pedigree. KC already beat best team Sunday -on the road, and will have key guys back healthy come SB. KC by -7.

Of course. They just beat the last team to beat KC and they did it in a fashion that shows they're never out of it.

Chirs you are so right about this. Watching that game, all I saw were Lions drops and missed opportunities. Dan made mistakes but the team could not execute and once the fumble happened, SF smelled blood in the water and the more talented team took advantage.

Its no but he coached us out the game. Chance to go Up 3 scores in the middle of 3rd quarter in the NFC championship. Chance to tie the NFC Championship, No excuses
@Musso877110 ай бұрын
You can't really compare terrible coaching decisions to plays on the field tho. Players aren't weighing their options and then deciding to drop the ball, that stuff just happens. A coach is consciously making a decision, so its really bad when one makes one like that in such an important game.

I'm a Niner fan, and I can do what Philly can't: - First off I can congratulate the Lions on a well-fought game. They were tearing us apart for the whole first half. Their team was hungry, and ready to pound the ground. They played their hearts out, and they should be proud of the season. - Second, I can also acknowledge that we had some lucky breaks go our way (Aiyuk's catch, the Gibbs fumble, the Williams/Reynolds dropped passes that would have converted). Without those lucky breaks, it would have been a different game. Maybe we still would have won, maybe not, all I can say is it went our way, and we capitalized. I will give credit to my team for NEVER giving up. We weren't about to mope our way into the offseason, with thirty minutes left to play. Why is it important to say all of this, well I'll tell you. Because we won the game fair and square, and admitting we had a little luck, doesn't negate that. Eagles fans were too arrogant to admit that same thing last year, when we couldn't even throw the ball. You could've said, "Hey San Fran, good game. We won, but it would have been a different game if you guys had had a quarterback." No... instead the douchebag parade starting barfing out how "elite" their defense was (for being able to stop an offense that could ONLY scheme run plays?!?), and how their offense dominated our "so-called" elite defense (who, by the way, COULDN'T stay off the field due to our offense being only able to go three-and-out)... Anyway, this is karma, and it's one of the reasons Brock has already achieved the same as Jalen Hurts (more, actually, since he has a better playoff record, now) in WAAAAAAAY less time...

The niners have like 5 pro bowl studs for the salary the Chiefs pay Mahomes. Purdy’s contract is what makes this niners team so good.

Actually, we had all these guys before Purdy, they would be here no matter what right now. The only person we picked up that maybe was because of Purdy is Javon Hargrave. Starting this off-season though, we have to pay some people and we will be able to because of Purdy.

Here's what I got to say as a 32-year lifelong lion fan CJ gardner-johnson needs to go at this point we paid him a lot of money for a season that he spent more than half of an injured reserve while he was on it he talks s*** to a receiver that just literally sonned him on the biggest stage of his career showed TO level arrogance and then started to play dirty ball i seen it we all did we legit should dump that dude to move up in the draft to take another crimson Tide secondary member there are two studs from that secondary declared this year save ourselves some money get rid of the drama and maybe even get ourselves a kicker at the same time so we don't have to doubt our special teams ability to get us points in the biggest games of our franchise history especially seeing we once had one of the best kickers of all time And news just broke that Ben Johnson is staying with us we got unfinished business 🔥🔥

The problem with the first 4th down…where they could go up 3 scores…even if they get it, there’s no guarantee they score a TD. The way SF plays defense…it’s just as likely that they have to go for it on another 4th down. If they take the points there the momentum swings back to neutral. SF still has to score three times without you scoring. By not converting the momentum swung huge in favor of SF. Believe me or not but I said before that 4th down play…that they are going to fuckit up and SF is going to go down and score. Then get a turnover and bammo. Quit going for the jugular. Stay even with SF and you can’t lose.

It's the hill Dan decided to die on. I don't think it's crazy. The Lions showed no ability to stop the 49ers offense period.
@daven199110 ай бұрын
Why does everyone think that timeout near the end zone was the biggest mistake he made. You're making a lot of assumptions that because they saved a timeout assumes that the 49ers, who just scored on EVERY possession in the 2nd half is not going to be able to get a first down if they go for regular kick off. I was hoping they would because as a Niners fan, I had much more faith in our ability to get a first down than an on-side kick. In playoff, that kick scares me.
@daven199110 ай бұрын
One more thing to add. Chris Long just spent a minute talking about how clutch Purdy was and Kyle is comparing him to Johnny Manziel??? Really? Lost my respect. Also, if you watch his body language, right when Chris started to talk about how good Purdy was, he immediately shift his body posture and sat up because he is mentally preparing to counter and I'm almost certain that John Manziel comment is a result of what he was thinking. That's the same hate that the national media has been putting on Purdy. And if you listen to around 11:50, Chris was just about to say something nice about Purday and Kyle gate keeps right away and changes the topic to a trainer...seriously dude, that is cowardly.

Also, Detroit's tackling was atrocious in the second half. I thought the Niner experience, and first half pride denting, played a roll in them coming out hard. Detroit will be fine and MCDC is still my dog, cept maybe that empty backfield on one of those forth and two. Behind that line?

Another thing that needs to be said is I'm not calling any of our coaches cowards or anything of the degree but in that second half we played scared football cuz if we hadn't have played scared football we would have continued to run it down their throat played clock kill and this story would be completely different today we made adjustments and changes at halftime and we technically didn't need to make any if it wasn't broke why did we try to fix it
@ericfunk136110 ай бұрын
What a lot of people are missing is that Badgley's success rate on 40+ yard FGs while kicking outside is bad. They could have just as easily kicked, missed and ended up with the same scenario only now you're telling your offense you don't believe in them. The lions missed their chances on big plays and the plays went the other way. That 50 yard catch should have been an INT instead of bouncing off Vildor's face. Goff threw a little off on one of Reynolds' drops, but hit him dead in the numbers on the other. Gibs' fumble had something off on the handoff that Olsen spotted but didn't really elaborate on. All this adds up and if you want to win it all, you can't have it go this way.

As a 49er fan I'm honestly offended by calling George Kittle a ball catching TE. Kittle takes pride in his blocking and would rather block than make catches cause he feels it's fun legally hitting/pancaking people and seeing DL lose their soul when they're on their back gasping for air on the ground. Such a shame he's so underrated as a TE cause he's also an outstanding OL

“When you look at the Miami game plan?” The ball felt like a cinder block in the QB’s hands the entire game because of how cold it was. Don’t think you can say the weather didn’t slow Miami’s offense a great deal. Chiefs still have a great defense, but I feel better about 49ers chances vs Chiefs than I did their chances vs Lions. Think they matchup better vs Chiefs. When i saw Joe Mixon truck Dre Greenlaw earlier in the season, i knew our linebackers might not fair as well against bigger backs like Lions have. Chiefs might have a bruiser RB that’s under utilized that they’ll dust off for this game, but I see most hand offs go to #10. Very good player, but I think 49ers LBs have the speed to close, and he’s not a very big back. Deebo can run between the tackles. CMC obviously can too. Maybe 49ers have both of them in backfield at same time, try to gash Chiefs with CMC and Deebo to setup explosive plays thru the air. Purdy needs to work on tear dropping the ball over hands 🙌 trying to swat the ball at LOS. Lions had a monstrous defensive line. None of those guys had Chris Jones’ height but they have several dudes built like Titans Jeffrey Simmons. Everyone forgets the 31-9 Chiefs Super Bowl loss. Mahomes couldn’t lead offense to a single TD. So they aren’t invincible in Super Bowl.

i was so close to blocking this content, just cause, im so tired of ppl saying the Lions shouldntve done X... ask yourself , do the guys on this team feel that way? No, they appreciate the OPPORTUNITY that THAT guy gives them every time(especially during the season, which should prepare you for these!) the timeout, meh,... but Im not gonna ? a guy thats done it all season...a tie ball game when u cant move the ball and theyre on a track meet doesnt feel any better as a LOSS than going out on the 4th down shield you carried all season....#DetroitVsEverybody

@RMax-lz4ry10 ай бұрын
There’s a time and place to go for it on 4th down, but not in a championship game where you’re 7.5 underdogs to a No 1 seed. Dan pushed his luck, when he should of played the higher odds and kicked a FG in the 3Q up 24-10 to make it a 27-10 lead. It’s not the regular season where you get next week. I wanted the lions to win, now we gotta hear for the next 2 weeks how Purdy is underrated and elite. Ffs man kick fgs.

Yes, there are absolutely guys on the team who are mad that they didn't take the points. You don't need to be a lions player to know that. That's sports.
@D3troit0010 ай бұрын
we made mistakes. wasn't that 9ers out played us. We screwed ourselves. Dan made the right calls. fumble. missed catches. lucky bounce. plus we don't have a good defense
@daven199110 ай бұрын
I think the 49ers did outplay the Lions by 3 pts. So unable to score in almost an entire half is all lucky. Give credit where credit is due. Lions outplayed 49ers in 1st half, stunk it up in second half, 49ers outplayed Lions in second half by a field goal. Lions are a great team and well coached. It's playoff, all the teams are good, it's not regular season, anything can happen teams that have GRIT will win. Playoff games are different, players and coaches put ALL their chips on the table but maybe Lions forgot how playoffs games are won. So question is...which team had more GRIT? I think I know the answer to that. EDIT: Oh...and CJGJ waving good-bye to fans before the half...tells you about what he knows of playoff games and being too cocky. You don't win in playoffs playing 1 half.

@mattbrendlen10 ай бұрын
Yeah dude, every team that makes it to the Super Bowl has some sort of luck, but good teams capitalize on the lucky bounces going their way. Giants beat the undefeated Patriots because of a lucky helmet catch. Giants beat the Bills in the Super Bowl because of a missed field goal, at the end. Chiefs advanced to the AFC, partly, because of a missed field goal (or that Josh Allen wasn't looking at the short routes, and trying to move the ball). Patriots beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl because Pete Carrol l making the most bone-headed decision EVER!
