Exactly why I dumped my boyfriend of 14 yrs. He saw nothing wrong because I was the only one complaining, instead of acknowledging I wasn't asking for the moon or stars. I wasn't good enough to please. I miss him dearly but know I'm healthier without him. This woman is right, we live once and I won't stop searching for my baby, I know he's out there haahaa.

I admire Iyanla's talents and appreciate her heart for people and her willingness to help them. I appreciate her courage to face whatever challenges she's had in her own life and how she draws from them to help others. I feel I've learned a lot about people and myself through many things she's said and done. My only issue is with how Ms. Van Zant mixes and matches various religious doctrines. I understand her application of whatever doctrines and principles that seem to be advantageous to helping people, no matter where they've come from. I also believe that every "major" religion has a portion of truth in it. However, when it comes to, at least the major 3 (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) their basic teaching claim exclusivity on a fundamental level that renders them inapplicable, in their fullness, for her methodology. In other words, by virtue of the nature of their own tenets, they are not to be used the way she is using them, in my understanding, based on having been a student of them. Actually, based on their tenets, as I understand them, she is voiding them out. This would basically render them resources for "motivational language", which might bolster people's self confidence and faith in themselves, but voids what they each claim is necessary for real spiritual strength, a restored relationship to God and their fellow man. I'm not judging Iyanla. I don't think she's just in it for the money or on a mission to lead people astray. I think she has a gift and is using it to fulfill what she believes is her destiny. I just know that in too many scenarios for me to remain comfortable, I've witnessed what I believe stands outside of fundamental Christian doctrine. I would add, however, that many who claim to follow God, in my opinion, could stand to learn a lot through Iyanla. Organized religion has too, too often been doctrine heavy and love light, full of laws and empty of mercy, quick with condemnation and slow with forgiveness, but the complete opposite will come up short too. We all have to judge what claims to be truth and goodness for ourselves.

I like this men. He has been good to me this summer. I want to take the next step with him. We have not had a sexual relationship. He told me that his ex wife did him wrong. I told him that i would never do that to him. Sometimes he tells me an a good person. Hw calls me jellybean. Once when he was talking with me, he said oh let's go home. He seems to be interested in me for the most part but sometimes I think he just wants to be friends. He has also told me that he doesn't want me to stop his friendship abruptly he said he wouldn't like it I think he really does care for me but is afraid to let go I do care and would like to say it to him. Help
