I love the last part where she says "he's looking for you just as hard as you're looking for him". That made me smile. Ok future husband, I'm getting ready for you. I'm not there yet so wait on me. I promise you I'll be worth the wait.

I have been that woman, afraid to be alone. What did I do? I stayed in 2 LONG painful relationships. I don't understand why we stay in hell but we do when we never knew heaven; these relationships hurt more than being alone! In my case, I never knew my worth. I was seeking the love, acceptance and validation I didn't have from my father. So I found men that were equally selfish, self-focused and non-committing. That way, I was "left" daily, while with them. Now I am finally alone and learning to love myself. All I would give to a man I will now give ME.

I'm alone because I finally learned that I'm better off alone than with someone who doesn't value me. Sadly, so many women feel that "anybody" is better than "nobody". I was in that group for a long time, but I realized I'd had enough. I wouldn't put up with someone treating my best friend like crap, so why would I put up with someone treating me that way.

Wow. As always Ms. Iyanla brings so much wisdom, light, and truth and in a way that is clear, heartfelt, and just simply touchable. I can feel her words inside me breaking stuff up lol in a good way. After being married for 20 years and experiencing betrayal and a horrible divorce, the scariest part to rebuilding my new life has been men. Honestly, they simply scare me. I'm not afraid of men, I feel strong and confident as a single woman again, but I definitely have trust issues and as much as I "know" good men exist, I feel unable to connect with the right man for me. I will apply the tools you shared Ms. Iyanla...working on being healed and whole because I do desire a loving partner who desires me too. Thank you

I wholeheartedly received this message. I can relate to alot of this and because of that I have put up a shell for years that has now pretty much become a part of who I am and now I find it difficult to put let this shell go because it has become a security blanket of sorts. Sometimes I wonder if its even worth it because the men I meet are so not worth the effort. But I have realized that I have some serious soul searching to do within myself If I truly want to consider being vulnerable(that word alone makes me cringe) to looking for love.

I was married to a military man for 21 1/2 years. Have three children, one granddaughter. Divorced in 2006 and still single. I wondered if it was something I did to still be single, haven't been on a date since 2010 and the guys were cheap, not honest and not wanting a relationship. God only knows who He has for me, He is preparing him for me and maybe waiting on me to let go.

Amazing as usual Miss Iyanla 🙂 I am definitely afraid of getting hurt again. I've forgiven my past, but I am afraid of it showing up again. I haven't figured out the whole lesson of why I'm alone & at different times, I actually wasn't alone. I felt alone & abandoned by my mom, but I totally get now that she had her own stuff. I'm not sure that she's finished with her work. Pray for her 🙂 As for me, I need to figure out why I'm attracted to men who are already taken. I guess it's my fear. If they're already taken & I delude myself to say we're just friends, they can't hurt me. But it does hurt. There's a man I wanna be with right now, but I can't. I guess my work is to continue to be vulnerable & see what happens in my life.

LauraBeth1981 As a Psychologist I advise my clients who have similar struggles to dig deep and try to identity that core wound (with the help of therapy of possible). Usually women who attract "taken men" learned that behavior during their childhood...they learned that they weren't "interesting enough" to demand or keep the attention of a man...people ignored them, abandoned them, disappointed them and made them feel as if they're "too much." Try to identify what it is for you so that you can heal. Praying for you 🙏🏾

I already know it's because of my physical disability. I can't control it or make it go away & it's a turnoff for most able-bodied men I'm attracted to.

After having been alone for over 10 years, I've almost become numb to the idea of having a Sacred Love Partnership; until very recently, I never felt the need for company; having been fiercely independent all of my life, I kind of rejected the idea of needing or wanting companionship, until I saw, reflected in someone, in a public space, all of the qualities within a man, that I kept hidden in the back of my mind, always believing that ideal was unattainable or that I was unworthy of it. Now, I see reflected in this beautiful, public individual & sacred soul, all of the possibilities of this "dream companion", becoming a reality within my own life, after I roll up my sleeves, cultivate the earth beneath my own feet and allow the universe to complete the final details of this individual that I am calling into my life, as of today... I see every detail of him, from the color of his eyes, to his height, haircolor & MOST importantly, the content of his character & the thought of calling that spirit into my space, is powerful and brings me great joy...Thank you my Soul Teacher, Iyanla. I have had a vision board that I will now put to use as I call my Sacred Partnership into being, while I chisel , form and dust off the pieces of myself I want to call forth & into being, so that I can reflect the qualities of this individual, within me, and see them reflected within him, as well....I say now, AMEN. It is done...☄☄🌟☄💖

Yes ma’am that’s me. The woman who is tired (exhausted) of the continued disappointment. I’m taking a minute to focus on me.

Who he is is who he is don’t try to change that- profound in its simplicity This is the key to freedom for women- accept him or move on-it is not you- it just is- this lesson will free you from beating yourself up. The longer you agonize over what you cannot change the longer you will not be able to accept the love that is waiting for you.

It's great to be alone, especially when you've never been nor had to be. Singleness is not the same as alone. It's awesome and there is a time for everything under the Sun. 😉

hello Iyanla vanzant i am 21 and from Western Australia and iam a survivor of domestic violence and assisted sudice and now iam a depression fighter and a singer songwriter this is my new song My Heart Needs To Know If It's Gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever First verse i can't Remember the date it started but trust and my heart learnt very early on they are very fragile. but also needed for another soul to enter.my brick walls woah but every slice of what i falsely named love that life brought into my window have somehow flew out of that window just as fast as it came woah my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah 2nd verse there were a few gems that i thought i could treasure in my heart with the sunrise after sunrise woah but in the end they were sunsets hiding behind the sunrise then for a longtime i throw away the idea of my happy imagination of the life i wanted yeah my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah. i use humour and a hard exterior to disguise one of my in the bottom of my souls deepest fears that have come with the heaviest weight woah when my heart stops keeping me alive woah that it would finish without sharing it contents with another soul woah my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah chrous. i get told iam beautiful by the souls that had their heart touch mine ooh but it's just my luck they would always be a reason that would turn their backs my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah 3rd verse there is that diamond that the very second God brough our universes together i knew deep down in my soul that you were gonna be a person it would turn into my dreaded nightmare if our bodies and minds could combine in unity but then we got a sweet short trial and then i was caught up in that before i could save it turned cold woah but the memories are Sacred to me forever my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah 4th verse i still have room for one of my past flames of my heart woah sometimes i just wanna be ready to say i have accepted that the chance of us recombination has flown away and to honestly mean it and for you to believe me yeah but at the end of the day in your eyes iam a completely open book and there is nothing that i can hide from you your like a mirror you see right through me at moments i wish i could close up but you know now more then ever that forever and a day the magic key to my heart is in your heart ooh my heart needs to know if it's gonna be alone or is it gonna find a safe home to rest forever woah woah how long is it gonna be take to find this answer yeah chrousx2

I've been alone or felt that way my entire life. I have no friends and it is so hurtful. Sometimes that pain is so overbearing and maybe contagious that I can imagine why I don't have friends. I've reached out to people but it goes nowhere past " I have something more important than seeing you". What do I do?

I have a Yorkie, while she brings me comfort sometimes a friend is needed. It would ease my pain (loneliness) knowing that someone out there cares for me enough to atleast want to see me.

Check your thinking Beloved. Check what you expect because expectations equal results. If you are holding the thought anywhere in your body . . . holding the thought that you will always be alone, you will be alone. Your mind creates so check your thinking Beloved. I will be praying to you.

It's also the times we live in. People are busy and don't have the time or energy many times for spending quality time with friends. I have felt alone all my life. 'Divorced with one adult son and two grandbabies, but they have their own lives. I am retired now and it's difficult. so many places to go and things to do, but when you are alone, it's boring. I have family and things to do, but with nobody special to spend the time with, it seems so lonely. I pray all the time for God to help me meet someone special. I'm running out of time and hope
