Some people has said that this speech focused more on being true with yourself and accept who you are rather than step out of the norm but for me, staying true with yourself and don't try to be someone else is already a HUGE step out of the norm; Many people are being feared and stressed out by difficulties in life and get depressed and sad so they kind of prevent them from doing incredible things. The statement of "Step out of the norm" can be easily understood just by know exactly who you are and what makes your life enjoyable and valuable, it's not about being outstanding or being famous or inventing some thing extraordinary. Thanks to your wonderful speech Ms. Vy, it's very well-done.
@hellenphan33183 жыл бұрын
from my perspective, I think this speech mentions more about being yourself and following your inner voice rather than stepping out of the norm of yourself. but it doesn't matter, it's an immensely meaningful speech , I love the positive energy that you transfer to everyone thank you very much
@linhtayo23093 жыл бұрын
I can see your point, but I think what she wants to tell us is that: You can be extraordinary. And when you come out of the norm, you should not change who you are to follow other opinions. So overall, it's a complete presentation for this topic.
@kathleenng9243 жыл бұрын
Just a side note, once you say "from my perspective", no need to say "I think" as they mean the same thing. This also applies for "in my opinion" 😇

Several years ago, the thoughts "Who am I?" and "Do people need to listen to my introduction because I have no value towards them?" repeated over and over in my mindset. However, her speech inspires and motivates me on my journey with a view to finding out my passion and discovering myself. Obviously, it does not include any academic knowledge which may make us misunderstand, it was just her own story about her youth and how she could be herself. Trust me, all of us will effortlessly see ourselves in her talk and realize that sometimes, we get lost. If you are not brave enough to fight for yourself, you will never discover your inner energy and you will never know how strong you can be.

I am Vietnamese, and besides being honored for the beautiful landscapes bestowed by nature and the honest and straightforward nature of our people, there are still some young individuals who maintain conservative thinking and lack respect for the talents of others. The truth hurts whether you want it or not. They are always ready on the internet to criticize someone even though they have never met them, only through social media comments. They always try to undermine talented individuals even though they themselves have nothing more to offer than those individuals. For some segments of society, the mindset remains very narrow, and we are still working to overcome this and strive to promote stronger education here. Khanh Vy is truly a talented, humble individual who always strives to achieve her own goals. A heartfelt thank you to her.

Simply because Khanh Vy still has a Vietnamese accent in her voice so you may be easier to understand her.

@@vivianphan3324 I'm Thai but I didn't feel like her voice has Vietnamese accent. I love her voice and accent.

@@jessb3413 I am living in the US so I can realize her accent is not fully as a native speaker. Her voice still has a Vietnamese accent, to be honest. Anyway, I still love her voice. But the truth is the truth.

Such an emotional and inspiring speech. At first, I could see how she was nervous due to her trembling voice. She looked on the verge of tears when she was talking about her family's story. But from the middle to the end, she was excellent at transferring meaningful messages. All of us know that we need much bravery to step out of the norm and I'm glad that she has found her ego after that. Keep going Vy!

Great talk Vy. Accepting yourself as who you are is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to yourself. That’s also mean you would accept others as who they are, and people would be much more compassionate to look from that perspective.

Your speech is exactly what I needed cus everytime I face the day I always look at the mirror and tell myself that Am I worthy enough? Why do I don't Have a friend? Bestfriend by my side whom I can tell stories? And then When you tell the phrase that The hard thing to forgive is not your bestfriend, not the one who betrayed you, and nor your ex boyfriend but yourself I suddenly realized that Yeah they are not the problem I supposed to blame but it's me who is trying to pushes myself to change, to be like someone else, who pushes myself to achieve the things that's not suitable for me and this time was the time I begin to see things clearly that IT IS REALLY ME WHO MAKES MYSELF BEING HARD ON "MYSELF" and Now I wanted to begin to remember myself not to be anyone else just to love by someone else but JUST BE YOURSELF thank you, you inspired me a lot, you have helped millions of people who has an insecurities for themselves, you helped them just to be themselves

Welcome to the TedX gang! Our girls Thao Tam and Khanh Vy have all been through some great struggles unknown to the public, thank you for sharing this to us and wish you all the best! Your voice has improved a lot and don't worry about the temporary swings, with enough practice you will find the balance that you so deserve. And - Don't just be yourself - be the best version of yourself!

When she talked about the word "just" and how easy it's supposed to be to "be yourself", I felt like something in me had changed.

I like the way you use the word "transform" at the end of your speaking. In my opinion, when you know how you want to be, what you want to do, and you try your best to "transform" yourself to become better, that's also being yourself. Listening to your inner voice and becoming a better version than yesterday. Thank you for sharing a very motivating story

But I fogot that I am the best and the only verson of myself in the world and you helped me to remember that. One more time respect to you.

"stay true to your vision...your voice is part of you do not deny it." Amazing talk. So petite and fragile appearance that holds great strength and courage 💪. Very inspiring.
