Super helpful guide. I'm pretty much a fill main in norms (and quite honestly use elorip to pick my champ pretty much every game) but have been trying support in ranked. Champ pool is definitely somewhere I struggled as I enjoy so many different champs so I really didn't know what to pick and I feel like this is a rare issue, so I'm super happy to see a well laid out guide for it! Immensely helpful, thank you!

I've been playing lots of glacial, enchanter lux (albeit not at a very high level, D3 atm), i think it is a relatively good blind pick, but I would like to a get pro's opinion. My overall reasoning is that, lux being relatively long ranged, will do well into most enchanters early game, and be evenly matched with other poke mage supports, whilst out scaling them later on due to an enchanter build. She struggles into hook champs, but does ok into melee engage with good q accuracy, and glacial proc will also assist with survivability.
@ShoDesu2 жыл бұрын
Lux is a pretty good blind pick if your early enough in draft because the enemy won’t know if it’s mid or support. She actually beats all enchanters as they can’t walk up when her q is up. Her biggest weakness is into hook champs as that matchup is very very hard for her. Overall good blind but if the enemy guesses correctly that you’re lux support and counters with a hook the game becomes difficult.

Thank you for this guide! I used it to make my rotation and blind picks for support :) Do you have any advice for how to construct the Bot/ADC Champion Pool? Specifically if you have a subclass breakdown for Bot/ADC like you did for support (Hook, Mage, Enchanter, Melee Engage). I tried figuring it out myself, but the best I came up with or found was Hyper Carry, Poke, All-In/Burst, and Melee/Tank. I'm not sure those make sense though, and if they are 'correct' I'm not sure which would counter which. I know it'll vary case by case, but I'm wondering if there are general subclasses/types and what the rock/paper/scissors system would look like for these subclasses/types.
@ShoDesu2 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg, I was trying to figure out a subclass break down but I feel like ADC champ pool is super hard to do it for. I was looking at the wiki/comments and I think that would be a great way to start to make the breakdown. Sorry for not knowing, but im sure you can come up with something that would make sense! leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Champion_classes/Marksman

Tbh I really hate the need to adapt to your teammates since most of them don't do that or troll (like picking Luc and having 1 game on him whenever you as a supp take Nami). Plus picking enchanters and tanks makes your agency as a supp even lower in games when your team has no one to carry. So you end up playing champ (I'm talking about whole sub classes, for example some people don't like playing tanks at all) you don't like, getting negative experience and losing eventually. I really love the role but I hate the feeling of being forced and helpless just because I'm playing the role that is "not meant to carry"
@ShoDesu2 жыл бұрын
I can totally feel your pain but truthfully draft does not matter as much in solo queue below Challenger. A lot of the theory based stuff I explain is under the assumption that both teams play optimally; in lower divisions, comp does not matter because most of the time solo queue players do not play "correctly." It is very rare for teams to contest objectives as a team because someone always gets caught/rotates late/dies before an objective. It is ALWAYS better to play a champ you are familiar with even if it messes up draft, than to play a champ you are not familiar with to compensate for a bad draft. Support is a fantastic role that does feel helpless at times when you have a bad team, but you can carry just as hard as any other role if you can gap the other support hard enough!

@Tall-Hobbit2 жыл бұрын
not the uploader but he did say in the video that you should have 2-4 not 6 champions plus if I were you I would limit myself to either thresh, renata or bard since all of them are hard to play and master and playing all 3 would probably result in not climbing for quite a while since you will need a long time to play them well
@sagittariusbstar18052 жыл бұрын
@@Tall-Hobbit Of these three only Bard is the one I can let go off lol. I am already mastery 7 with Thresh and learnt a lot about Renata's strengths and weaknesses. I guess I will focus on Thresh, Renata, Sera and Braum. I will ignore Nami and Bard, therefore have 2 enchanters less, since I already have two. If you consider that I can play Thresh (by no means perfect of course), and am learning Renata (which is annoying when mates run away in decay phase), I should be fine now, right?
@Tall-Hobbit2 жыл бұрын
@@sagittariusbstar1805 yeah definitely better although you can't expect the climb to be easy since thresh and renata need a lot of games to be decent especially as soon as you hit higher elos. This is generally why high elo players tell low elo players to play easy champions because it allows you to learn the lane and because you don't have to focus on learning/mastering the champion. To give an example: Nidalee jungle is extremely hard which is why you don't really see it below diamond because learning jungle tracking is a lot easier with xin zhao where you don't have to think about a billion things while doing your combo.

Been playing for about a year now. I basically only played lux till m7 220K. I dabbled with a bit of Galio and Nautilus, but since 12.11 came out I've been one tricking Swain. Swain can play any role but jungle. Does that make him blind pickable? Are lux and Swain too similar to have in a group of 4? Swain is WAY more fun to play for me than lux. I like nauti a lot. I want to round out my pool and I want to know if you have any suggestions
@ShoDesu2 жыл бұрын
I think Swain is a really good pick right now because he can be flexed mid. Lux and Swain are not similar so you will actually have a nice champ pool with Naut, Swain, Lux, and Galio!
@DailyDoWell2 жыл бұрын
@@ShoDesu Swain and lux do play very differently. I was thinking they were similar because they are mages with damage and CC. You also mentioned enchanters are strong right now, and I completely agree. I have played galio as a support maybe 5 times. Is there an enchanter you would suggest? Should I "drop" Galio for an enchanter? Edit: I played galio mid a lot starting out. In my opinion he is too good at a shove and roam play-style to justify taking him botlane. I feel he would NOT want to get hooked considering he is very weak to AD/his W passive shield is for AP
@ShoDesu2 жыл бұрын
@@DailyDoWell Honestly I think Swain would fall under hook rather than mage. My pool is a bit larger than 4, probably 6-10 champs if I take my cheese teemo support into it, but I am also not challenger. I mean the reason the pool is so small usually isn’t because they are challenger it’s to give you the optimal climbing experience and more champions means less skill on those champions which in turn makes climbing harder

@Fisherman399tАй бұрын
just any enchanter + a good blind pick. Pyke doesnt really do well with ADCs like Kog or Aphelios who are weak early and want to scale, so you can pick an enchanter with peel like lulu or janna. As for a blind pick, just play whatever blind pick you like most or is the easiest for you(Rakan, Naut, Bard), since pyke can struggle into other hook champs who have an easy time hooking him while he is charging his, since it reduces his movement speed.
