BTP, a question...why only 2"? The farmer mentioned needing two passes. Would going deeper reduce the number of passes or does that not matter for this scenario? So happy that you are back in the fields vs. farm show vids!! Love hearing the machines work.
@thebeast82854 жыл бұрын
Its vt, you really dont run deep in vertical tillage (or we dont) it really is ment to chop residue while only turning little dirt to mix it all together. And while it's at it, it helps smooth the field out

Good video, once again. We see a lot of equipment pulled by a variety of various sized tractors. Is the MT655C a good match for the 6630 Saber? I mean what does the manufacturer say is the needed horsepower for the 29 ft 6630?

Call me old fashioned but it still looks like what we used to call a disk harrow.
@db-cd8hx4 жыл бұрын
its along was from a tandem disk. those blades do not last very long and they will not take hard ground very well and not at all with worn blades
@brianzybura86334 жыл бұрын
If it was me I would moldboard plough it all first. Especially the corn ground. Its got a carpet of weeds and with a moldboard plow you bury it. Then go over it with a Wishek style disk with cultivator and packer behind it. Here in southern Ontario we use to call that the hitchhiker. You then have a well prepared seedbed. I believe that with this method you build up humus and you reduce weedseeds significantly. That should reduce the amount of chemical weed herbicide needed. Anyway its his farm--his call.

Hello, I'm a farmer from Brasile, I don't understand the reason for carrying out this light harrowing operation. being that it would be much less cost to carry out the direct planting on the straw.

Nice tractor. This footage is surely from last year with all those green trees -- things are just starting to bud out around here (SW Va). I wonder how long AGCO is going to keep all these duplicate brands alive? It seems like it would be so much easier to push one brand (like Fendt) through their Massey network in particular. Or else make one tractor line and paint/name some Massey/Challenger instead of having unique styling for everything? Surely their current approach isn't that efficient? Same with CNH -- just make one line and paint some red, some blue. Oh, but everyone wants a unique trattor. Well, when cabs and controls and powertrains are all but identical, no one's being fooled...

Glad i don't have one of those tractors it just seems like the Massey/Challenger are late to the party in the cab dept and i think that's why the fendt line is being pushed since its going to replace the challenger line at some point
@zimmermanservice74744 жыл бұрын
The wheeled challengers are already discontinued. Their latest cab in the Massey is quite a bit better. Agco seems to struggle to figure out which brand is what. I just hope Massey isn't next on the chopping block. 😢

Ok, when did that quit being called a disk and start being a vertical tillage tool?
@bigtractorpower4 жыл бұрын
When fluted coulters are added and only the top 1 to 2 inches are worked. A disk works 3-5 inches deep with a cupped blade. Both disks and verticals tillage tools are sold today.
