I’m sorry for your sadness. It’s normal what you are going through, and it takes so long to accept a dear loved ones loss. We are lucky to experience one good love in our lifetime. Sending you the best. Patrick would be so proud of you and your undertaking.

You are still mourning Patrick and that is normal. It takes some years to get over the loss of a partner and you can not replace him. Until you are at peace with your loss you can not really se someone else for what they are worth. Finish youre tour around the world and continue with your life. Keep the boat and do shorter sailings now and then with friends and remember Patrick. God luck to you!

Beautiful sailing and scenery, I was a widow for 11 years before I had a date and he was my biggest regret. I foolishly stuck with him for 4 years on again and off again. I realize that I would rather be alone and that no man could ever fill my heart like my husband. Sometimes loneliness can cause us to make wrong choices. I wish you peace and joy and perhaps eventually love. 🙏🙏⛵️⛵️⛵️🥰

It’s been over seven years since my wife passed away. This is my life life is definitely not fair! There’s no point in comparing as life is now. I “get” the looking back be close with your pain and embrace yourself as though you were a dear child. It does get better but as I am sure you realize two become one in so many ways. He will always be with you as sure as your ancestors will always will always be with you. Warm regards and always know that 100% Patrick and your ancestors enjoy your happiness and suffer your grief. 🙏

I suspect that you got very lucky to have found Patrick. You're lucky to find someone like that once in your life. His spirit has left his body and now resides in you. Carry it forward with you. Live, not only for yourself, but for him as well. Try to cherish your time. Be open for possibilities, but don't force them.

Thanks for posting! Cheers, SV Good Karma I learned awareness of how my sweet potato/ my bride is alive and well after she died... spent every day for a year at her graveside reading The Prophet aloud with her. Whoooo weee yeah. I suspect my bride is always with me. when the energy of my bride passed to another form, communication with her called for different techniques... Describing subjects of interest in spiritual ways helps me connect with her... Yes I believe she's always with me. Feel free to discuss/ inquire... Also, just keep swinging, like a baseball player, a boxer. Blessing for me to have had the experiences with her. Also find an effective way to move forward with my life... "Make new History." Much love to Rebecca. I lost my beautiful Pam 8 years ago, and I still have trouble enjoying holidays on my own. No one will ever replace Pam, or Patrick for you. What helps me however is Matthew 6. Our Lords prayer." No morning or out cry" says to me that Patrick and My Pam will be resurrected just like Lazarus, that Jesus woke up from four days of death. Be patient, enjoy what you can, and wait for that promised resurrection. X

We have a similar float switch on our bilge pump. It has a timer relay built into it so it runs 15 seconds or so after the water is gone to help clear the hose of a little bit more water.
@RVLifeNOW
@RVLifeNOW Жыл бұрын
Yep the more the better… less water on a sailboat is good ;)
@svbarryduckworth628
@svbarryduckworth628 Жыл бұрын
Yup! Our bilge pump is quite large and uses a 1-1/4" hose -the same size as a septic hose so there can be a lot of backwash once the pump stops. We have a tiny vacuum pump with a foam sponge "dry-bilge" pickup and a 1/4" vacuum tube that is what we use to really empty the bilge of all incidental water down to a couple of teaspoons left. The main bilge pump only runs if there is an emergency or we are hosing out the engine room to clean it out. I hope you are planning on leaving WPB before the summer storm season comes and moving Brick House up to at least the Carolinas or the Chesapeake or even further north this year. We are back to Velcro Beach ourselves and readying BD to do the same leaving next week if everything goes as planned...written in sand ;) Florida is no place to spend a summer. We spent last summer in Oriental NC last summer because of "reasons" but that really was a bit too warm and exposed to hurricanes for our comfort. We spent a summer in Montreal back before COVID and that was the perfect climate for living on a sailboat for the summer. It's just a long ways back to Florida and the Caribbean for the winters.

I'd love to sail with you but I'm not in the right place to just drop everything yet and I have never set foot on a sailboat so you would have to boss me around all the time. I would be okay with that though, I'm not one of those kind of guys.😂 I'm a fast learner and highly motivated to learn, I plan to get my own boat in a few years. I'm not a complete novice, I have no experience but I've been watching KZbin videos for years now and know what most of the parts are and what they do by this point. Maybe next summer or fall I might be looking to crew with people for a while. I joined one of those Facebook groups just to keep an eye on what's available and dream in the meantime.

Was Patrick an Aries? Hmmm, I am an Aries. We are natural adventurers. Patrick would be a couple years older than me. Losing the love of one’s life is one of the top losses in anyone’s life. No one “gets over” true love Rebecca. When you take him with you everywhere and you can feel him enjoying himself, that is when you know you’ve healed that spot that knows it’s not quite the truth that we lose a true love (other than sometimes physically). I’m cheering his b’day and your next bit of healing, it will be tremendous Rebecca. You’ll know it when you feel it. Thanks for telling the truth about loss of a partner, it helps so many people - you don’t even know how much it helps and who it helps and you will never know! Good on you. 👍 PS small distraction okay, big distraction - big interference with your process and your plan. Stay safe.

Glad to hear. I don't have the opportunity to watch often, offered my input some time back on your attempt to remove oil from a windlass. Too bad the gremlins that monitor stopped my comment, I'm assuming I broke the "law" of suggesting a solution and where you could see and possibly purchase one. It was an electric drill driven pump that you purchase, very inexpensive, which would easily pull the oil out when powered by the drill. This is often used for draining oil from an engine via the dip stick.

Oh good lord fine lass. Nobody will ever be Sir Patrick. Crew comes and goes and if it is not your life and feelings getting in the way of developing higher end relationships it is their issues. Build the memories still left that you can dear. Do not be sad of losing Patrick, be happy for the time you had with him and the newcomers to your life as well,,,, to a very firm line. You did not sell Brickhouse as Patrick advised you to do upon his demise and are continuing on and getting life accomplished. I think it safe to say to date that even Patrick may have underestimated you a wee bit. I think once the circumnavigation is done you will feel uplifted for all of perhaps 20-30 minutes and then start looking at what to do and where to go from there. No, the accolades of your journey in the yacht clubs perhaps will never suffice for happiness beyond that 20-30 minute stream of feelings you will have at the end of it. You will never be happy in 4 walls collecting up a bunch of junk. Patrick ushered you well beyond that I do believe. At the end of this circumnavigation you will feel an immense pride in yourself for a bit though I do believe. I have 300,000+ plus miles under my own keel but no circumnavigations to boast of. I do not worry of such things. The only thing that is of any ultimate interest to me is how I will look back on my own life in my last 5 minutes of life (given I get that) and feel about my own contributions to this world.

Oh i have to say i clearly can see, that the rust has done is work in weakening the metallurgic structure. In your video at 8.20"" you can see two issues: One , there is a c-shaped crack in the bottom part, and two the originally cylindrical bolt at the end of the stay seems to be gone out f shape, lost its roundness due to chafing on the two "hooks", that keep tit down, and they seeming lost its inner shape too, both seem to be "un"rounded. I would not trust it that way, as it is the backstay and there is no redundancy. I would secure it with a strong dyneema, if i could find two anchoring points. One on the mast and one ( with a pulley 1:4 or 1:6) at the bottom end.

@@1SeanBond I have followed Sailing Brickhouse for quite awhile including before Patrick passed. It comes across to me that Rebecca still wants to be active sexually which is perfectly normal yet, the complications of being the boat captain and owner with all those responsibilities has complicated romaitic relationships with crew. I just suggested that taking away all that complexity might be a solution for her. She really wants to complete her circumnavigation and I hope she is able to do it.

@10:36 ~ Does that kissing sound mean it has something to do with attempted sex/romance?
