Do you think heating up the pipe with a blow torch a little would help with the process?
@ChallengeTheBuild23 күн бұрын
Yes it would help but then the concern with the heat would be melting the rubber bands of the expander.

Maybe once the tool has expanded the pipe, before releasing the pressure, going around the expanded area with a hammer and giving it a bunch of light blows would help to set the expansion by relieving the stress of the metal. I've seen a lot of folks here on youtube convert these to hydraulic. The only concern would be ripping the threads off the draw stud or nut. Everything has it's limits.

I would like to convert this to hydraulic at some point...I appreciate you watching and commenting. 👍

Stainless will not stretch like mild steel. Even a professional muffler spreader will crack or rip the stainless.

You need to use a torque-bar not an electronic wrench.. it doesn't have the power you need.

So using a torque bar / breaker bar is difficult because of how much force you need to clamp down on the pipe to keep ot from spinning. Not that it isn't doable just adds a little bit more difficulty to the job...

Don’t you have Air in your Shop
@ChallengeTheBuild Жыл бұрын
I do... Limited air tools... Anymore I opt for battery... No more air hose, however there are some tools that just need to be air powered!

I have the same kit, and use my air impact gun piece of cake, don’t know why you didn’t use air

Gave me a reason to buy a Milwaukee 2767 1/2" Impact 😂😂😂

The Milwaukie actually has more power than our air impact guns. This is our experience in our shop.
