No disrespect but who sold Kara a (exotic) Gem? Shame on that shop. Beginner/intermediates need to "mature" a bit, no? To each their own I guess.
@SirJoelsuf111 ай бұрын
Wrong, wrong, wrong. From what I saw, Kara is incredibly speed dominant. Has MAYBE 150 RPMs. Exotic Gem was a good choice for her. Although the original Gem would be even better. Beginners shouldn't ever throw "beginner" balls to start. This is the biggest myth in bowling and its been going on for close to three decades now, sadly. Cuz if you give a bowler like her something "weaker," it will go all over the place because of lack of layout options as well as their tendency to read as soon as they meet friction, combined with how inaccurate (most) beginners are. This makes beginners incredibly confused when they throw their "beginner" balls. With an aggressive asym pearl ball like the Exotic Gem, a beginner bowler will be able to see EXACTLY what it does when it meets friction. Which will allow them to understand motion which should be the goal of any beginner bowler. Cuz no matter how far you miss with something like the Exotic Gem, you WILL see it encounter all three phases of ball motion. Not the case with the "weaker" stuff. If Kara just has that Exotic Gem and a spare ball and brings those to league for the second half, her average WILL go up.

@@SirJoelsuf1 point taken... but original msrp was $285. There are plenty of "performance" balls for beginners at half the price.
@BornIn150011 ай бұрын
@@SirJoelsuf1 Wrong. Beginners need to learn accuracy first, which is way easier with a much weaker and cheaper ball. Handing a beginner an Exotic Gem is forcing the person to learn lane patterns before learning accuracy. You're skipping way too many steps and confusing them. A weaker ball won't go "all over the place" at all. In fact, a stronger ball like the Gem is likely to go all over the place because they haven't learned accuracy and the strong ball will react hard when they mistakenly throw it to the dry boards.

So why do they make beginner balls?
