Chamaleon CHA-TDL Tactical Delta Loop 1st RF - 13 Jan 24

I got an early birthday present (couple of weeks). Added another aerial to my field radiation loadout. The Chamaleon CHA-TDL works as described by the manufacturer, with best performance on 20m and higher. I did manage to make a few contacts on 40m and 30m using the Xiegu G90 at 20W. The tripod is a 25 year old Bogen Manfrotto and appears mire than adequate to support the antenna. The biggest advantage, in my opinion, is light weight and quick setup.

What the maker will not disclose is the impedance matching device is a binocular design, which dissapates most of your power in heat, i know, i have one, and it is proven by a thermal assessment using Flir.

I mount this on top of the 25' porta mast hooked up to my truck hitch receiver. For quick deployment to performance ratio, it is a winner.

I live in a HOA so I put it up and take it down on a regular basis works great on 20M

The CHA TDL is my go to antenna for POTA activations.

Intermittent BNC? I don’t think the military had an issue. They seem to prefer them.

It depends how you’ll be using it on 40M and 80M because of the height - you’ll be mostly radiating NVIS as it how I’m using it on those band. If you elevate the unit - you’ll get DX on those bands too!
