Just heard this excellently conducted interview. Rich veins of intellectually stimulating, sage epithets effortlessly flow out of Chamath's mouth, littered with casual profanity for shock effect (and maybe to relate more with folks on the West coast?). Folks can choose to focus on the negatives - like his recent insensitive remarks about the Uyghurs' situation in China - or take the positives on how to generate assets or run a business for the long term, giving honest answers when asked a question and not forgetting your roots and ultimate purpose of life (i.e to give back to others and our planet). I do not agree with everything he said (eg. amass wealth quickly right now so that you can 'help' later) but there were numerous "Aha" moments for me while listening to this person. Thanks to Stanford GSB for sharing this with us!

My wife and I are the same way, only we are poor! We leave.. at the very least, a 50$% tip, or we don't go! One year, we ate at a Denny's on Christmas while on our way to our kids house. It was really late and we were very thankful that they were open, but also felt guilty that our server had to work! So we left her a $200 dollar tip! She told us that she would now be able to buy her kids some presents! That was OUR best present that year!!! We love tipping really well because it makes you feel really good! Please start doing the same. If you aren't living paycheck to paycheck...then do this for others.

@@rohandat There is a big difference from WANTING others to do good and Demanding others do it too! I believe it's up to each person whether or not they give someone else their hard earned money! Telling our story might get someone else to do it too! But demanding others do good, or whatever it is you think people should do, just because you do it. Then getting our government to enact laws that force people to do those things. Then telling everyone that you do it! That is virtue signaling! So don't confuse the two! But you putting a label on our good deeds, only shows that you are a dickhead with no life!

There are few that take big shots, scale up the money, and take out the typical metrics over time that becoming a smaller, better run company is the sweet spot and it's a treat to see someone talk about it live. A little too much cussing but supports the genius behind it. His back story is super gnarly. But he is one of the most unpopular vc's among peers because he wants to win. And he's still young and hyper-isolated in others that think and allow his personality to be a protractor and not a bridge to communicate his ideas. It sucks that happens, but I would give him the money because his version of optics and truth is fresh and appreciative of his candor. Rarely do billionaires want more influence without sacrificing anything. They just expect it to happen because they got where they are and now command it. He continues to be in the trenches and hope his path is sustainable for us all.

Watching this in 2021, he totally called how the world works and we are knee deep in shit. Get the money and make new rules!

He’s calling out open society foundation and how they are moulding the world as their ideology by buying media, politics, local Govt, movie industries, video games etc.

@@ugotserved911 I disagree. As he's stated, he's probably one of the few individuals who has witnessed what's behind the veil and boldly reported on what the top 1-5% are doing in order to control the masses. He made it clear that in our world not just our counties, those who control the money flow controls the narrative. Street education teaches you to survive. Can anyone tell me what the point of higher learning is besides making money for businesses? The education I seek is to break my generational trauma not to join the rat race.

@@raykeziah4218 that’s exactly how open societies foundations operates. George soros. Charlie rose interview in 93. Rest is history. U know they own wikimedia. That is, Wikipedia. They fund john Hopkins. U know that hospitals pivotal role today every day at 8am and 12pm and 8pm. They also fund thomson Reuters and AP among others. George soros has a world view. He wrote a book about it. So like chamath said “why not” (putting it simply obviously ) soros also decided the same. Again, Charlie rose interview in the early 90s.

@@raykeziah4218 and to ur second point. Do it. Do it as fast as possible. The world is changing beneath our feet. Systems may change. U may never get a chance to escape the rat race in the future as that opportunity we take for granted in a capitalist society will soon be deemed a privilege only for a certain ruling class. Change is coming. Adapt or die right? Cheers. Wish u the best. Get that money!

@@RahulKumar-ng2gh You can gifts in a smaller way. We have bought clothes at Target and gave those away to a school district, give $5 tip to a server, there are so many ways to be generous. It's about scale.

Must be nice knowing this guy doesn’t care at all about the Uyghur Muslims since it’s “below” his line. He supports genocide and denies anything is even happening in China.

Thanks, Stanford for bringing people who are inspiring people and also making all of us learn about the investments and new avenues and tech. I have been following the channel like others where the detailed analysis and views of the speakers are given. I learned about Gamestop and AMC via Reddit but in detail with channels like yours and BeYoundtoDAY so thank you, guys!

His beliefs are solid. He even participated in the wall street bet. r/gme. He proved that the financial regulators are controlled by the people in power and is rigged against us normies. Lmaoo SEE CNBC. CNBC SUCK. Paid actors in Journalism. You can't trust joursnalist as they are bound to Rules and Regulations. Do a little research than following some dumb news agency.
