Bruce’s love and admiration for Mozart makes this lecture particularly ebullient and engaging.

Fantastic as usual! I've been binge watching all of his lectures the past few weeks, this is how music needs to be taught

The development section of this piece is incredibly beautiful. I had overlooked it before.

I don't know if Bruce would see this, but I hear a striking connection between the passage he refers to in the Mozart quintet at 22:27 in this video and the opening phrase of Haydn's Op.50 No 2. Same key, composed in the same year, Haydn and Mozart were very familiar with each other's work. Maybe a coincidence, but I'd like Bruce's opinion.

Dear David, there is indeed a similarity! I find also that there is a strong similarity (probably conscious a tribute to Mozart) with the recapitulation of the first theme in the 1st movement of Schubert's fabulous string Quintet, don't you find? Best wishes!

The musicians have a very agreable sound. This is quite rare in Mozart's string quintets.

Adolphe overstates Mozart's mischievousness. This guy is a frustrated stand up comic.
