@@IndRepair, Im pulling my hair out with a non- run issue on the same model. Before I Went through the carburetor I was told that this was new out of the box bought in 2016. They said that it ran for 20 minutes and died on gasolina . Someone worked on it before me. "A carb cleaning without removing the bowl ". I would figure to find old ethanol gas gummming up the main jets. Nope clean and all circuits are non restricted in the carburetor. Shut off solenoid also. HI the on button and it depresses. The valves are moving freely with proper valve adjustment on the rockers. Put new gas in and tried with propane and only stumbleds on choke. I also took out the factory spark plug that looked new like the piston and got a new plug because I noticed low spark yet bright ignition tester. The next day I pulled the Pull cover off and found that the ingnitor coil was out of Gap. I put a business card between the coil ends and the flywheel magnet and got better spark. Yet still will only stumbleds with gas or propane. After two pulls I have 30psi on a new compression tester. The piston super clean at tdc(top dead center for others learning) with both exhaust and intake valves relaxed at the proper clearance. Unfortunately they don't have timing marks on these engines. With being at TDC the coil is aligned magnet in the flywheel. Disconnected the low oil sensor even though it's oil is full looking like honey. It's starting to make me think that a mouse or something got into the exhaust plugging something up. A month ago I had a generator that would only run for a few minutes for a friend who bought it off a construction friend. Changed the oil, went through the carb fresh plug and it would only run for about a minute. I removed the sprak aresster from the muffler and it was plugged solid with carbon. Like the potato in the tail pipe. I will take "Wire brushes and carb cleaners and the wonders that they will do " for a thousand Alex.

Without question, this is the BEST Instructional video in diagnosing and solving the problem. Once I decided to give it a go, I found exactly what was wrong; crud in the carburetor. Using the directions here in disassembling, cleaning, and re-installation of the carburetor, weeks of my screwing around with information from other videos was immediately solved. My 10K watt Powerland started and purred like new. Thank you for taking the time to explain the problem and finding a solution. Very well done!

WoW, WoW, WoW! 1/13/23 - We are sitting with no power in the house due to tornadoes last night around 6pm in Georgia. Trying to get 9375 to start so we could run the well so we could flush toilets, etc. Hooked up the 3500 Champion for 110v just for lights and fridge. Was breaking down carb on 9375 using a flashlight until 1am and finally gave up on what I was doing. This morning, the internet was up by using 110v so I researched and found your video. With the daylight and your video, broke it all the way down and figured out the float needle was extremely bad, also that damn solenoid needle. Good cleaning and she is up and running. Could be several more days with the damage so showers are nice too. Wish I could send you some cash for the help. You are a life saver.

Usually want to replace them if they are brittle or have bad spots in them. It is possible to reuse in a pinch but we do replace them every time. If it is running well the gaskets sealed ok and it is nothing to worry about

If I only run my champion generator on propane, is there any concern of the carburetor getting dirty or is there anything I need to do preventive maintenance? Thanks for any info

If it has never seen gas then likely will never get gummed up unless the propane is a bad quality. Over time propane will leave some deposits but will not be enough to be concerning

If my unit runs fine on Propane, but will not start on Gas, is this still the likely scenario? I’ve seen that the float is sometimes the issue and literally just tapping it with a hammer will resolve it. Not the case for me thus far, so about to follow your instructions. Great Video. I have the same model Champion that is pretty much doing the same thing, and will not fire up at all. It had only run about 10 hours before this happened and only ran on Propane. It will crank & run with starter fluid being sprayed in it. I have to check the low oil (Thanks for that), but other than that could Propane cause the same problem with the Carburetor?
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
The carburetor controls the fuel supply on both propane and gasoline so it could definitely be the issue you are having if it stays running on starting fluid. Check the fuwl solenoid on the bottom of the carburetor for operation also

@@IndRepair Thank you Sir, will do that.

I'm still having an issue with the unit not staying running. Any ideas. I feel like it's the low oil sensor. If I unplug the wire from the sensor, will that help diagnose the issue. And it runs for about 10 seconds on either LP or gasoline.
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
Is the battery fully charged and connected and battery switch on?
@andrewbeauchman2995 Жыл бұрын
Yes
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
Sounds like a fuel supply issue. You can test by seeing if it stays on when spraying carburetor cleaner in the intake. Oil level is ok also?
@andrewbeauchman2995 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I cleaned the carb. Tried it on LP and gas. Unplugged the oil sensor. Oil is at proper level. Sprayed carb cleaner while it was running. But it shuts down after about 10 seconds no matter what fuel it is on.

Sorry, do not have the exact engine model from this one to give you the information. We use universal fix gaskets for most of this and Huayi replacements for the rest. Most of these things are so expensive you are better off replacing the carburetor than buying a couple gaskets

What is the purpose of those green wires you disconnected from the bottom of the carburator? Can you pull start this machine is gas mode without a battery? I have replaced the carburator and still won't run on gas. Propane is fine.
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
The wires control the solenoid needle which shuts off fuel to the generator when not powered. Some propane is probably able to get past the solenoid need for starting if I had to guess. They should not start without battery switch to on with a good battery

I have a Champion dual fuel 9000 watt and when I push the start toggle, I can hear the starter make a constant noise, but the engine isn't turning over. Is that the solenoid?
@IndRepair Жыл бұрын
It could be a solenoid buzz or a bad starter. I would try jumping the solenoid and sew if starter turns over. If it does you know your solenoid is bad or is not getting good voltage to it for it to start. Also check yo make sure you dont have a bad connection at battery or solenoid
@USCG.Brennan Жыл бұрын

@ 1:06 you "Check the dipstick ..." and erroneously, based on a tiny bit of oil on the tip of "the dipstick", decide that there is enough oil in the genny. FULL is when the oil JUST starts to flow out of the oil fill hole (technically 1 or 2 threads below that) and NOT based on "the dip stick" --- even the owner's manual says that.

I think you should look at the manual a little closer. It even has a picture to show how much should be on the dipstick if using this to measure
