SW KOTOR SPOILER ALERT! I don't think he betrayed the Mando'ade. They lived as mercenaries, and a soldier like Revan was respected and was hated by the mandalorians (50%-50%) Canderous respected him, and he helped a guy, who turned out to be Revan later. Then he helped Revan as friend to seek his memories, and Revan helped him to regain the Mask of Mandalore... Even if he killed his clan-brothers and wife. It was not Betrayal.

@@haldirienx3830 correction he stood with him afterwards because he believed anyone strong enough to best Mandalore the Ultimate would draw worthy opponents to him leading Canderous to an epic battle(which it eventually did what with him fighting a sith lord that consumed two entire planets whilst aboard the Ebon Hawk for a second time, in other words the task Revan left to him of defending the Republic from the Sith to restore Mandalores honor led him to an epic battle)

@CCCP1USSR Don't know what you're referring to by the cold war, but the old republic takes place about 300 years after KotOR II, so he long since died by the time of the Great Sith War. His legacy was reuniting the Mandalorians and reminding them of their purpose, rather than allow them to continue to spiral down into gangs of pirates, mercenaries, and thugs that they were reduced to after Revan defeated them.

They have a purpose. Its to make the biggest mark that they can on the galaxy so that they'll never be forgotten in the pages of history. So that every action they take, whether through battle or through brotherhood, will never go in vain. They believe their accomplishments will live on forever even when their souls have long since left their bodies. Which, of course is true. And a far more realistic outlook on "immortality."
