If you have any questions or just wanna hang out, I started streaming 5 days a week at: www.twitch.tv/arrenk see ya there! I’ve been working on a documentary about Star Wars for the past 2 years. But the youtube algorithm is so broken that subscribers don’t see it in their feeds. Here it is folks, watch and enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYrMfH-Qeclgaqs& For people who complain about Rey being in a video . Here is the long explanation: The entire video revolves around number 3 . Video is 3:33 long. Kreia sees the future in 3 acts . Specifically how history repeats itself. 3 examples are shown . 3 Hero journeys . Video itself is made with a 3 act structure (Just like most of my the other videos) Act I from 0 - 1:13 Act II 1:14 - 2:02 Act III 2:03-2:51 Act I is a hero introduction. Act II is the journey. Act III is the final confrontation. Just as in the game or movies etc so in this video . As Kreia herself is a self aware of their own story and how she is that final confrontation. She says sadly "and there must always be a darth Traya , galaxy needs it's betrayers" Malak=betrayer Vader= betrayer Kylo=Betrayer (Kreia=Betrayer) As all are shown If I'd use Anakin instead of Rey , i would break the the classic 3 act hero journey structure. Showing Anakin-Ship-Anakin- and no explosion (There is no big explosion to finish it up just like with others ((and little anakin blowing up that SIS ship in Phantom menace is not a big deal for the future fate of the galaxy.)) . So in conclusion I had to show the betrayer meaning Kylo , had to have that explosion , because of how music plays . And had to make the entire Kreia seeing the future as understandable as possible for everyone . Anakin would have broke the perfect repetition cycle . P.S. Also the Dead spot in the force is shown 3 times throughout the video . P.S. 2 I'm not a big fan of rey at all . I love what she represents as a Hero , the idea itself of nobody is great, but I never enjoyed how she is actually represented at all. Thank you all and hopefully this answers some of the confusion . May the force serve you well

well i mean... Kreia is right... from legends to cannon the balanace of the force is a pure conflict of light side and dark side.. if one side becomes more powerful within the galaxy, then the force will be on the side of the underdog in that regard. kreia realised this, and ultimately you can say kreia chose the light side.. she didn't want more conflict, more death.. she decided on the fact that without the force the galaxy would be a safer better place to live in. she saw in the exile the same power that Darth Nhilus (spelt wrong, mask dude from kotor2) had. but compared to him, the exile chose the light side.. so with a power like that but directed in a positive way could ultimately strip the universe of its capability to produce force users, thus ending the force entirely within the galaxy.. kreia had a dream.. a good dream in a logistical point of view..

I like how Kreia doesn't advocate the selflessness of the Jedi or the selfishness of the Sith, but instead tries to instil the importance of Choice. Condemning one who submits to either extreme and instead praising those who make their own path and stay true to themselves. At least that's how I see it.
@bird92304 жыл бұрын
But what about dis: "An open hand can cause as much damage as a closed fist" Kreia litarly says helping people denies them the strength gained from facing a conflict to find oneself, or fins yourself lacking.
@corruptangel67934 жыл бұрын
@@bird9230 that's this quote: "if you seek to aid everyone in the galaxy you will only weaken yourself...and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards." Sometimes, not always, but sometimes the best way to help someone is to leave them alone. Let them succeed or fail on their own. Either way they'll likely come out wiser and better for it. After all, are you even qualified to help that person? Think, treat each situation differently and don't rush to help. Your quote is "be careful of charity or kindness, lest you do more harm with an open hand then a closed fist." She's saying don't be nice for the sake of being nice. Think before you act, otherwise you might instead end up hurting them in some form or manner. Both of these stem from the same source: choice. And the ripple effect yours has on other people and their own respective choices.

Your mistake is to think that just because one CHOOSES a path to believe in and follow that there isnt choice. Although I acknowledge that the Force has indirectly killed countless lives in the many wars throughout the galaxy. Still in my opinion I wouldn’t have it any other way. Life is all about personal growth and finding meaning in your life. The Force offers people both a tangible hope and spiritual growth on a primordial scale. So why must we fear war and death? Honestly I don’t see pain and death as a bad thing. It lets us know that we’re still alive and that in our final moments our actions have meaning. Atleast this is just what I believe. So honestly I say to hell with Kreai’s ambitions. *That’s my answer.* *May The Force Be You, Always.*
@LightAndDarkMdness023 жыл бұрын
@@bigwill45 You have heard but you have not listened. Kreia's problem is she hates what is quite literally the God of the Star Wars mythos because this God took choice away from her, and continually forces the Galaxy into horrific conflicts that result in billions of sentient lives being crushed and destroyed. Kreia is a self-aware villain who realizes that her fate is pre-determined, and that the fate of all things has been pre-determined by the Force (the script). As long as the Force exists there is no choice. No free will. All of this will just happen over and over until the heat death of the universe. Kreia rejects the Force. The Exile is special to her because the Exile, in a moment of sheer pain and agony, rejected the Force so thoroughly that they literally wounded the Force. They became a dead spot in the Force where it has no influence, which is why we as a player can make our own choices. Kreia sees in us a Galaxy that is free of the Force's will for better or worse. Everything Kreia does is so in that final moment you can choose to carry on her legacy, and perhaps one day by teaching enough Force sensitives to be like you, the Force will die.

The Exile was unique in many ways. First, she had a gift for forming connections through the Force. She influenced the people around her: her subordinates, companions, random people she met on her journey. What was happening to her echoed on them. Second, she survived the events on Malachor. When the planet died, crushed by artificial gravity, everyone on the surface and in orbit died with it. The echo of this massacre, the echo of thousands of death cries, deafened Force-sensitive so much that it led to their death. Places like Malachor became wounds in the Force, echoing their tragedies. But the Exile did not die. To save her life, she had to cut herself off from the Force, to break the connection. And that created an even bigger wound. The spot at which the Force had no power, that it could not control. The Exile bore the echo of Malachor's deaths and a hole in the Force within her. Kreia wanted to use it. She hated the Force for setting up repeating cycles of war to achieve what she called "balance". The Light fought the Darkness, and there was no end to this fight as there were Force-sensitive warriors fighting against each other. Therefore, Kreia used the Exile to destroy both the Sith and Jedi, to destroy their flawed Force teachings so that they could not be replicated. She also directed the Exile to the key planets of the Galaxy, so that she would create connections with them, influence other people, events and the Force itself (create new "echoes" and strengthen old ones). And in the end, she wanted to create a new echo (most likely by killing the Exile ), which through the formed connections will affect all significant places and people at once. A resonance will occur, and the whole galaxy will be covered by the echo of Malachor, killing or tearing them away from the Force. Force will no longer be able to influence the course of history. As a result, there will be no Force cults and their false teachings in the Galaxy. There will be no Force-sensitive through whom she manipulated events and incited wars. And, finally, there will be no Force itself (or it will be weakened), and the Galaxy will be able to live independently of its will. Unfortunately, this was not destined to happen.

Though I've always agreed with Kreia's goal and philosophy, her endgame would essentially kill everything and everyone in the universe of Star Wars. Every living thing is connected to the force. There are some non force sensitive beings, but even they are technically connected to it, just unable to utilize it. Maybe a few million or so would live in a galaxy of trillions. They would be free though of the force.

Benjamin Keith Kreia didnt fall to the dark side, it was her choise, a sacrifice. "The world needs its traitors". The reason why she turned to the dark side was to bring you to Malakor, to save the future of the jedi order from the dark side and the light, from the force. Also, the Kreia that was speaking about apathy is not a true Kreia, but an image of her projected and perverted by the dark side force nexus on Corriban. Apathy is indeed worse then death, but not always. Apathy is the lack of will to do something, and lack of action as a result, but sometimes lack of action is better then any action you can take. For example: when you are given a choice to side with Kreia or your other companions on Corriban you have 3 choises, to side with her, side with everyone else, or to do nothing. Doing nothing is a correct choice, cause both sides of the conflict are not real, but just an illusion. The main difference is that you do nothing for a reason, not cause you just dont care, so it cant be called apathy. The jedi lie to themselves that they are peacekeepers, they rely on the force in everything they do, and let the force "guide" them in their life. If they were truly the peacekeepers they claim they are then they would do everything in their power to keep the peace, they wouldnt limit their numbers to just force sensative people. Instead they limit themselves by their dogmas and do nothing, not cause its better to do nothing, but cause the force doesnt "guide" them to do anything, so they dont care, and that is true apathy. They lack the strength of their own, only the force, an "ally". They are strong not cause of who they are as people, not cause of what they know and what they can do by themselves, but cause the force allows them to be strong. Thats why they fall to the dark side so easily. They see only what the force shows them, what it wants to show them. They are weak people, just like every other relogious person. And sith are no better, even worse. If jedi are slaves to the force, then sith are just tools, meant to be thrown away when they have no use anymore. Fall to the dark side is one of the greatest displays of weakness. I can go on and on about this, but Im gonna end it here.

I think the climax of Anakin is his fight as Vader against his son. Another flight between Light and Dark, like always. Of course, this is the story that made Star Wars what it is, but when you look at the entire lore, the entire history, there is nothing special about it. Just another fight between good and evil. Across thousands of years, nothing changed, and the force still destroys everything with this conflict. And this masterpiece made by Dudu showed this in a perfect way. It also shows how deep the philosophy of Kreia runs. She understands this, and she hates the force for everything it does across time and space. Absolutely fascinating character

Kreia and KOTOR 2 are just perfect from a story stand-point. THIS is how you do a proper deconstruction of Star Wars. You don't turn Luke Skywalker into a hobo, you criticize what the Force actually is and how it's existence makes free will in Star Wars impossible. Whether the Force actively does this or not the galaxy is forced into a never-ending conflict between the Jedi and Sith due to its existence. The Force drives Force sensitives into extremes and slowly corrupts one's free will. The Jedi become stoic and emotionless monks while the Sith become chaotic and evil monsters. Everything that happens in Star Wars is just a backdrop for the Jedi and Sith. All that suffering and death is just so these two extremes can continually kill each other until the heat death of the universe. That's why it's called Star Wars. It's a galaxy perpetually plagued by conflict due to the existence of the Force. Kreia realized how abhorrent this is and wanted to just put an end to it.
@fatnakedjimmyneutron3 жыл бұрын
You got most of it right but George Lucas describes the whill of the force best since he created it we shall take his understanding as gospel. The force gives free will at the same time always striving for balance. The force has no beginning and it has no end. You can either serve the whill of the force or you don't. Therefore free will exists. The force knows the outcome the world between worlds shows that time isn't exactly linear. The force created all and the force is all. The force will deem in the end what is best for the galaxy and for the universe. George was inspired by many religions. He still goes on to say he believes in something all powerful. Something that dictates yet still allows free will. Kreia doesn't understand how that works like many humans don't. For the believers of Christianity this is just life. God knows everything yet allows us to do what we want. It's not something people can understand but they still try and or try to defy it. This is how the force works. Tenebrae literally tried to make the force bend to his power but the force said No and turned him into stone and eventually to dust. You cannot go against the whill of the force. You can either serve it and become one with it or die and be forgotten.

Kreia/Arren Kae/Darth Traya is perhaps my favorite Star Wars character of all time. She expanded the knowledge of, and meaning of The Force in ways that have yet to be equaled. Rian Johnson said he wanted his Star Wars story to subvert peoples expectations, and it did, along with destroying the story in many significant ways. Through Kreia, Obsidian wrote a Star Wars story that subverted peoples expectations, but in ways that expanded the story, characters and the minds of the fans.

Isnt arren kae someone else? Arren kae is supposed to be handmaiden's mother. Kreia is not even the same species as brianna.

@@hoohag5371 Brianna is potentially only a half echani. Kae (unspecified race jedi master, and teacher of Revan) was her mother and an echani senator/general was her father, as a "near human" Species they are able to interbreed with humans. Kae as well as (or perhaps *as* )"Kreia" followed Revan into the mandalorian wars. both were exiled from the order (Kae for her motherhood, Kriea for unspecified reasons) both were presumed dead in the wars. so in short Jedi master- Both Trained Revan- Both Exiled from the Jedi- Both Presumed fallen to the dark side and dead in the Wars- Both it was never confirmed, but there is no such thing as coincidences in the force.

Do you hear, Jedi and Sith? There is no Chaos, there is Harmony they say, yet so long as there are two sides there will always be chaos. Cruallassar in a novella that never got the chance to be published and was meant for Legends, it is explained that The Force is an ethereal energy field made by The Supreme Creator and allows living beings to interact and always be connected to him and the Celestials. The different aspects of The Force (even wounds) are but transformations of the Cosmic Force itself. Light was introduced to the galaxy by The Daughter. Darkness was introduced by The Son. And neutral or balanced use of The Force is what comprised of The Father. Jedi and Sith only escalated the expansion of The Dark Side and Light Side energies into The Galaxy. Nightsister Magick is a twisted but actual form of The Force. The same goes for all mystical powers that beings use across the Galaxy. It is all The Force, and in all ways, it brings forth and takes life. And in the end, The Supreme Creator and Celestials stay connected with us...

@GandaveTheGrey6 жыл бұрын
Personally, I agree with Cailus Griffin. A canonized series (probably written by the original authors Drew Karphysm and Michael Avallone) would be awesome. But also, I think one could start such a series much earlier, during the Mandalorian Wars. Establish the different characters early: Meetra, Malak, the unknown, mysterious Jedi who becomes known as Revan, his master Arren Kae, the Jedi Council and the young, gifted Padawan Bastila who oppose the Jedi joining the fight; the mandalorian and repulican side including Candorous, Carth and intriguing Senators... but make it cold and brutal and kill off characters for real. With the right screenwriting it could be a Star-Wars-Version of "Game of Thrones", and even if it could'nt reach the latter, I think it could be still an awesome series.

She is a tragic character. She learned all that there is about the Jedi and understood they were lacking in their understanding of the Force. She became a Sith to learn more about the Force only to learn that the Sith were also lacking, yet in the end she understood the Force manipulated the whole Star Wars Universe so she wanted to sever the Galaxy of the Force, but the Force brought Exile on her way and Kreia lost, and so did her teachings...
@michaelnewman7468 Жыл бұрын
It is sad. But her teachings led to the fact that the Exile became a real Jedi who was able to raise a generation of Jedi who were able to destroy Valkorion, who wanted to absorb the entire universe altogether.

But it's a rare talent that necessitates one to fully understand and respect the source material before trying to subvert it. Kreia is one of the most fascinating and complex characters even created in Star Wars. She was the first Star Wars character I knew of who completely discarded the simplistic, bi-polar light/dark dichotomy that you usually find in Star Wars.
@SzucsBence19926 жыл бұрын
I want to point out 3 things in this video. I. The Exile knew she made a mistake, and wanted to change, to be better next time she faces a similar challenge. The Jedi tried to represent Order and Permanence, this is why they denyed this from her, they had the Illusion they have kept it. (Btw my favorite line from Kreia is "I didn't kill Atris, I just stripped away the illusions which were holding her together.") II. By this the Exile turned away from a power that is not her own. For me, this is denying your mistakes (and by this, make yourself feel better) and in a wider sense boosting your Ego to make yourself feel better. In the end, these are lies and illusions, which are weakening your spirit. III. "There is only you." The Forceless and simple world was enough for the Exile. She didn't wanted to boost her Ego, Life as it was was good enought for her. And it is truly a hard choice. Not beliving in Prophecies and Mysteries, just say Life is good as it is, and worth fighting for (Even If you didn't find eternal connection in the Force after your death.)

I. Th. What you said is not necessarily a good thing. If characterisation sucks (and it does) then it is worse than nothing. KOTOR 2 does excellent job at fleshing out The Force and all the philosophy that is based around it. While it leaves Revan's motivations mostly unclear by only defining his/her methods and overarching goal that does a better job at creating a compelling legendary character than any of the TOR or novel bullshit. When it comes to storytelling what you are not told is even more important than what you are told. KOTOR 2 took to heart "size doesn't matter" mantra. The truly terrifying manifestations of The Force were left outside of game mechanic, were never quantified and were reached through application of particular ideology and through deeper understanding of the ideas that are core to those ideologies. Novel and TOR is just brain-dead power wank. The True Sith are powerful because they are strong in the Force not because they follow a particular ideology that makes them so strong in the Force in a particular way. They both mechanize the Force, make it less a reflection of all life and so a reflection of the ideals and thoughts of that life and more of an extra limb that can interact with the world in an unique way. It is crude and boring. It diminishes what KOTOR 2 did with the Force and so it would be better off not existing at all.

"There is no truth in the force" That sentence alone tells you all about Kreia. Placing faith in a thing that cannot be seen or heard by all, has the gall to control all life. To control someone's destiny. She realized that the force must die to prevent even greater tradgies all in the name of something only a select few can feel, as Malgus said, to be horded by the Jedi, and denying it's knowledge to others. The Sith did the excat same thing, leaving the average person in the dark to be sacraficed. It's a good parallel to Christianity.

The only key difference is we have a choice to make of our own will. To evolve with the knowledge that the force must not be allowed to control us. To evolve into something greater than before, to share knowledge, rather then perpetuate ignorance.

100% Star Wars its not apathy to dislike the video, it instead shows that they care. I disliked this video too, cause it fails to represent Kreias teachings. Also, "Apathy is death, worse then death" wasnt said by Kreia herself, but by the image of her projected and perverted by the dark side force nexus on Corriban. And it also isnt true. Apathy leads to lack of action, but sometimes lack of action is better then any action you can take at that moment. Apathy is wrong, but lack of action is an action too, and it isnt wrong by itself. Apathy is a lack of reason, motivation to do something, lack of care for something and it leads to a lack of action, but lack of action for a reason is not apathy and can be a better choise then any other action you can take in some situations.

@KrisFrost43596 жыл бұрын
And yet, there were those who could find the balance between the two. Kreia wasn't wrong, but I don't think she was entirely right either. Then again, in her last moments, the Dark Side had physically corrupted her so much that perhaps it did indeed cloud her judgement as well. I think it's all about perspective and Kreia had a very nihilistic view on things. She glimpsed the truth through that narrow nihilistic view but maybe she didn't quite grasp the full scope of it. Kreia always seemed to have hate and despair in her heart. Quite possibly, she broke her vows as a Jedi and became a mother only to lose her child. That, or something similar, could cause her to lose faith in the Force and even see it as evil. It could also explain the way she viewed Meetra, seeing her as a replacement for the child she lost.
@MrRavellon6 жыл бұрын
L0L L0L L7L it is actually quite likely that Brianna, the Handmaiden, is Kreia's daughter. There are things that suggest that Kreia is Arren Kae. She is not nihilistic, she is desperate. In her view the Force is a slaver and she is a slave. And not even death would free her. The only living entity in the entire Galaxy that she knew about that was free of the Force was the Exile. Imagine this: you are convinced that the entire Galaxy worth of living beings, including you and everyone you ever cared about, are enslaved by an utterly alien, unimaginably powerful and incomprehensible will that will not release its grip even in case of death while breaking away from that grip means certain death. And there is a single being that managed to survive being freed from it. On one hand you have the fact that you and everyone you know will be slaves until the end of time and on another you have this proof that it is possible to be free. She is not nihilistic. Nihilism comes from losing all hope. She has hope. And hope is the most wonderful and the most terrible thing you can have.
@tripleoo06 жыл бұрын
Hell, the way she described her interactions with Revan and how they coalesce with what the Jedi masters say, is it at all possible that she ISN'T Arren Kae? The only thing that didn't quite line up is that the very earliest Kae could have left for the Mandalorian Wars is 21 years before KOTOR 2 starts. Just based on her character designs and descriptions of her given by other characters, it doesn't quite line up, but this was also speculation on behalf of the characters, with the most insightful being Brianna, who didn't have many details to begin with and looked to be in her early-to-mid twenties by the time the story starts, which does line up with the rest of the story, but Kreia does not look like she would have been of birthing age even twenty years prior. TL:DR - Canonically, it's very likely that Kreia is Arren Kae, but it just doesn't match up terribly well with the character designs. Take a few wrinkles off, change her hair from white to grey, and now you're getting somewhere.

Every now and again I have to watch this video. The editing, the music, the character herself, all of this is perfection. I am not a guy that comments in videos, barely if not at all, but yours was worthy of this comment, my friend. Keep up the great work. This is the kind of content that hits one at their core.
