Isaish Rashad?
@Sedrick9 жыл бұрын
+Oryah Brown You don't wanna play that game. Let Johnny live, it's not like he was going to be able to list every hip-hop artist he considers to be "real and making dope music", or at least it's not like he'd be able to list all that you or most of that mindset would consider to meet that criteria. That's why it's now necessary for us to all work together to formulate a definitive list of hip-hop artists that are "real artists making dope music" on this comment thread and into the future more and more can be added infinitely. That should solve this problem. I imagine Isaiah Rashad makes the cut. Alright, so who wants to continue the list?
@okb4779 жыл бұрын
Sedrick Just seeing if the artist I mentioned met that criteria....... Sorry for not being descriptive enough.
@Sedrick9 жыл бұрын
Oryah Brown Oh, well if you were just asking him if that artist met his standards then that makes sense. It's just that normally when people reply with "[insert name here]?" they mean it in a, "Hey you forgot this person, you need to add this person to your list." I was making fun of that response, but clearly I misinterpreted what you meant by your comment. I apologize.

As a white man I think the protests for Black Lives Matter are necessary (protests, not riots). HOWEVER, I think the name of the movement, while being a powerful one that's easy to remember, is making it too easy to dismiss by simply saying 'All lives matter'. Saying black lives matter is not meant as in 'only black lives matter'. But not everyone will get that. It's unfortunate because now you only reach the people that already understand, instead of making those not knowing understand.
@JuanCarlos-ei1yh9 жыл бұрын
i think the riots to an extent are also necessary no major news source would cover a damn protest fr more than 5mins but the attack on individual citizens and small buisness are not needed
@dutchhiphopfan0509 жыл бұрын
***** The people who exploit are rich and powerful. Nothing more, nothing less. All lives matter the same but not all get treated as such. Black lives matter focuses on one single race. And are black people treated unjust? Obviously, its been just a few decades after public racism was banned (not exterminated nor excluded from the police force tho). A deep cut will leave scars. One cannot simply cure a crooked mindstate. Us versus them is a powerful but dangerous mentality which puts different folks up against eachother and has caused some of the biggest genocides of our time. I just hope Black Lives Matter doesnt make mistakes about who 'them' consists of. basing who they are on facts and not suspicions due to race/income/nationality.
@dutchhiphopfan0509 жыл бұрын
***** Obviously those that know the movement know it's not about black vs white. My main point is people that DONT know because of a lack of correct media coverage/coming from a neighborhood where said issues sound foreign to you wont be able to tell. So it was easy to say 'But but but ALL lives matter right?'. And all those people will blindly follow that, A petty but easy excuse to dismiss the entire movement, while this ENTIRE argument would be much harder to use when the 'Black lives matter' name was different. Im not saying Black lives matter is a bad movement, I think it's necessary to be honest. As an european I have my own additional theories about why America has so much police violence (obviously the racial profiling/profiling of low income citizens is a HUGE part of it) though. I still believe it's not the best name, maybe Fuck the Police lol?
@dutchhiphopfan0509 жыл бұрын
***** It shouldnt be an appealing name, it should be a name that is a brutally honest statement that inspires, but isn't easy to dismiss with a bullshit argument. Black lives matter is a great statement and sentence that automatically stirs conversation, but to the ignorant its easy to dismiss. I am not offended by it nor do I think it needs to be more political. Hell, call it 'fuck off you racist cunts' for all I care. That's bold, in your face but at the same time the only reaction you can make towards is 'but I'm not racist' which you can beatifully tackle with pure facts. Another great example to me is'Hands up, dont shoot' which is much better in my opinion.
@dutchhiphopfan0509 жыл бұрын

The second half of the conversation is very good.

Brain overload. Did I just watch an interview that was informative and not combative on an "urban" radio station? Was there no mention of being "ratchet" or negative gossip and actual dialogue about mentally progressive BOOKS and ARTICLES? Maybe I'm being a Stan, but this was the best interview I've seen in a long time at a radio station with a "hip-hop artist". Salute to Chance man and 97 for this one. I'm a journalist myself man and I'd love a chance to interview this man for some positive and progressive conversation. Tweet @ARTISCEND and @Chance to help me make it happen.
