I went on the turbo many times when it came to Vacaville .California in the70s and 80s this was by far the best traveling carnival ride I have ever been on.

I rode the Turbo as many times as I could back in the late 70's in Vacaville at Andrews park during Fiesta Days. Some of the best times of my life!!!

This seems to be the only Turbo on KZbin. You can tell by the base. I remember this ride at all the fairs I used to go to. My uncle was a jockey and he would do the fair circuits, so I would go with him to work, and while he was racing the horses, I would be at the fair. First was Vallejo, then Pleasanton, then Santa Rosa, Bay Meadows, then Stockton, and finally the biggest, Sacramento state fair. I remember riding the Turbo at Pleasanton, Santa Rosa, and Sacramento. Best ride ever.

This ride was the best flat ride ever! This ride will beat the Chance Chaos any day! It's a lot more unpredictable, has hangtime, and positive forces. It doesn't even need to be fast!

I’ve heard that this is an extremely rare ride and only few were produced. What a Crazy Ride

Last time I saw one I was a kid at the fair, around 1978. Did not get to ride,. I would ride today in a hot minute if one existed near me.

This was the very BEST amusement park ride EVER! I got to ride it at the L.A. County Fair in the 70's, and again at a carnival some time later. Then it disappeared and I've been looking for it since. I could never understand why it was not more popular. However, I understand that it took a long time to load, and this made it inefficient. GREAT RIDE though! What a loss!

The other big issue was maintenance more down time than up time that and the fact that trailer mounted rides were coming out

I think the problem is, and was, that the ride looks incredible, and the tubs are very well designed and padded beautifully inside, but, unfortunately, the tubs don’t spin like intended. The consensus was that it’s nowhere near as fun as it looks, and after just a few years, they started offering, our retrofit turning it into the radar which, I turned out to prefer. We expected this to be better than the zipper until we got on it, everyone I know was disappointed in it. I’m not saying it wasn’t fine. It was OK, but if it was doing the kind of numbers on the road that it needed toto justify the expense, Chance would’ve changed the issues that flagged the set up and tear down. If this ride was as fun as the zipper, there would be one in every show and every park around the world.

This was one of the better rides at the Solano county fair in the 70s when I was growing up. Now days there's nothing like the rides we had.

Yep and it'll have much more popularity than the zipper. Plus more capacity

OMG! thank you so much for posting this! I saw this ride twice back in '72-'73 in Seaside Heights New Jersey on the Casino Pier (now famous for the Jet Star II Roller Coaster in the water following superstorm Sandy in 2012)...both times the Turbo was out of order, I never even saw it operate much less ride it....there is another video on youtube, but it is not showing the full cycle of the ride....this is a first for me and most likely a first for many vintage ride fans that never got to ride it....supposedly, they were a nightmare to maintain and there were only about 25 manufactured in total...very rare ride!

This ride was ahead of its time. Even on the Chance Web Site you will find no record that they even made this Ride as well as the Classic Ride SKYDIVER. SHAME ! I always wanted to ride the Turbo. ZIPPER is the only Classic Thrill ride still listed.

I got to ride this at the Annual Flagstaff Indian Powwow in Arizona and the Navajo Nation Fair in Wondow Rock, Arizona. Frazier World Fair Shows always brought the newest Chance Rides, which were amazing. The Flagstaff Indian Powwow is but a distant memory. Good times back in the 70's.

They also made another one very similar but with open gondolas similar to a fairies wheel called (raven) it's just a coincidence that it's the same as my dog but I think that's kind of cool as well but the rest of it was exactly like this ride and it was maybe a little slower because of the open gondolas. Anyways i wish they would bring back some of the rides they used to produce they were much better in my opinion.🙂👍✌
