Thanks for your report on Puerto Rico a couple of weeks ago. My sister has a big church over there, and she warned all of her congregation to check their generators and fill their cars with gas and stock up on essentials. I saw your report and warned her. The storm followed 100% the track you predicted. My sister lives in a gated community, and they lost power for three days. The people in the more rural areas were without power for weeks. The whole congregation was very thankful for warning them at least a week before it started to be broadcast on local channels.

@VermontRentals3 ай бұрын
@@stickboslightning So true. The fact that the earth is about 1.5 degrees C warmer, or about 2.5 degrees F, means that the atmosphere can hold more moisture and thus cause heavier rain events. I've been a pilot my whole adult life and we have a magic number... 59. That was the world average temperature that is the basis for pretty much all performance charts that allow pilot to plan for safe flight. Today that number is over 61. Many folks may say "so what, doesn't seem like much" but that difference equates to entirely new weather patterns, warmer oceans and different weather events, such as rain. Sadly, what has happened in NC will happen again. And again, with increasing frequency. Our world, like those aircraft performance charts, were designed around 59, not 61. (Don't worry about flying. Pilots plan around the variation from 59. That stays safe!)

The Northern jet stream's been really weak for awhile now, allowing the tropical jet stream to dominate and influence the Southeast's weather. I live in SE Michigan and we've not had much wind to speak of really since the beginning of July and we're into October, when our weather typically sees a drastic change with increased wind, rain and cooler temps. Hasn't happened and until it does, the tropical jet stream will continue dominate the weather pattern for a large swath of the U.S. and wreak havoc.

This video is about a potential hurricane that is forming in the Gulf of Mexico and may impact Florida. The speaker of the video, Jonathan Keegas, a certified meteorologist, discusses the latest modeling data and forecasts for the storm. He says that the storm is likely to become a tropical storm or hurricane and could make landfall on the Florida Peninsula. The speaker also discusses the potential rainfall impacts of the storm, which could be significant. Keegas also provides an update on Hurricane Kirk, which is a strong Category 4 hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean. He says that Kirk is not expected to impact land. Overall, this video is a helpful resource for people who live in Florida or who are interested in the latest hurricane news.
