@@JPsPetNation okay so here’s the lowdown as far as I’ve been taught. Soflo has Venom 1 which stocks every known antivenin. (Zoos/Venom 1)They’re the ones who supply the hospitals. If you’re in a location where there are not native venomous or large collections of venomous, you must supply your own. Cheaper to buy directly and store yourself. Collectors/Keepers will even keep expired Antivenins just in case they need it

@XKuroXHanaX3 жыл бұрын
@@JPsPetNation I've been around the native animals for as long as I can remember. I like to move the male tarantulas out of the road while they're looking for mates. Every opportunity I get to interact with the native snakes I do. I had the wonderful experience of meeting an incredibly gravid banded California king snake in its natural habitat. I had the privilege of capturing and transporting an injured baby great horned owl. I also get to spend a lot of time in the southern california hilly deserts on horse back. I'm currently waiting for lockdown measures to ease up again so I can bring some of my ambassadors to the local museum. Watching people like Chandler have really inspired me to be in nature and help it wherever I can. I doubt if would've had the courage to help that owl (who despite being a baby was one of the largest birds I've ever met) if I had never seen what chandler does. He gave me the same motivation that watching Steve Irwin gave me as a child. The wildlife of Southern california is amazing and adaptive and reclusive but if you get the chance I recommend spending time in the nature preserves to see them.

Excuse the dumb question on a 1 month old comment but I'm from Europe and the most dangerous animal that I've come across is my cat after not feeding her for a day. 😂 How do rattlesnakes actually impact your life? Do you actually fear them when doing work on your farm or are they not really an issue at all? When growing up around rattlesnakes, are you told not to play in the grass etc? How often are people actually bitten? I would really love some insight on this. Any neat stories from your life with rattlesnakes?

@@RamoArt dont worry buddy so im going to try and answer the best possible, they really dont impact my life much since they love being hidden and its in a way kinda rare finding one besides the well known places (such as places where are small caves) only you find them if you are kinda looking for them, i dont fear them at all, they are beautifull and I respect the fact that it is their home aswell i feel if you dont f with them they dont f with you, they arent an issue if anything they help with a type of rat camp that eats the fruits, the only thing that i was ever told is to watch my step because pretty much the only way that they attack you is if you step over them since they dont see you as a prey but rather a predator, and as far as I know not many people really have Ever been bitten in that ranchs zone (there are many ranchs that we share a road so it really isnt common), hope i helped you out, also lol with your cat haha

"Amazonas" however is a state of Brazil that got this name because it has the biggest part of the rainforest and it's the place where you can find the green anacondas (in brazillian portuguese, my native language, they are called "sucuri-verde"). The Pantanal however is located in the Central part of Brazil very, very, VERY far from Amazonas or the rainforest itself, a 49 hour car drive.

A lot of people are asking about antivenin. I’m assuming he does not keep any of his own antivenin (because he would have shown it). If he gets bit he will rely on local zoo or another keeper to supply the antivenin. Worse case it needs to be flown in from another state/ or unavailable altogether. In that case the hospital will do everything they can to preserve his life.

Just happened to see this.... I once thought the only good snake was a dead snake. Then I was bitten by a copperhead almost lost my hand. After that I got curious about the difference in how venom works as well as antivenin. Then after a tornado outbreak I was cleaning up debris got bit four times by a black widow ..... A fever over 105 severe chest ,back, tummy pain ,trouble breathing. Every muscle screamed in agony, one bite from a black widow is 15 times more potent venom wise than a diamond back rattlesnake. I took 4 bites barely survived. Paralyzed for week's. After numerous vials of antivenin, drain tubes,surgery I still have nightmares. I gotta say you are one brave dude! I learned to have respect for people like you and other's. Without guy's to handle and collect venom from all venomous critter's there would be seriously agonizing deaths.
@joost11202 жыл бұрын
Damn, that's some rough history with venom. I don't think the venom yield from a single black widow bite is 15 times more potent than a diamondback rattlesnake though. No one has died from a black widow since 1983, and pretty much everyone bitten makes a full recovery without serious injuries. The black widow's venom seems more potent on paper because it is very effective against small critters, requiring only 0.55mg of venom per kg to kill a mouse, however it is significantly less effective against larger animals and humans. The diamondback rattlesnake requires 2.7mg of venom per kg to kill a human, but it also injects around 300mg of that stuff in one bite, and potentially up to 800mg. The diamondback's venom isn't nearly as potent as other rattlesnakes, but it injects a lot of it. Still, 4 bites from a black widow? That's got to be bad. Good thing you made it.
@summerrainsong75062 жыл бұрын
@@joost1120 it's true , there is no mistaking it. Do some research. Consult a toxicologist, you will find what I say is the truth. If you want to talk serious agony and life or death... Try being in the hospital for months in C.I.C.U due to being attacked by a critter with Rabies. Doctor's swore I would not survive. For 28 straight days I was given Rabies vaccine in the tummy, it was excruciating. Due to severity of Rabies I could not be given the series of shots in the arm. I spend a lot of time in the woods, hunting, gathering plants, wild berries, nuts, when it's harvesting time.

Hey Chandler, been watching your vids for a few years. Really enjoyed this one, where you went into detail about the legal requirements to keep exotic pets like venomous snakes. I’m curious, what do the tornado and hurricane protocols look like? Do you need to make an attempt to save/transport the animals, or is it more like, we’re sealing you guys in so you can never escape, good luck! Also for the neurotoxic venom, does your protocol involve having someone nearby to assist you? It seems like you might not be able to follow the protocol if you’re suffering the effects. Anyway, thanks for the vids. Stay safe!

I don't think Chandler keeps Antivenom in his Facility, if he had he would have probably show it in a Video. The PROBLEM is that Chandler keeps TOO MANY EXOTIC SPECIES and by that I mean Snakes non native in USA. Hospitals Routinely stock Antivenin ONLY for Native Species. (Rattle Snakes, Cotton mouths, Coral Snakes etc). Antivenin for the African Vipers and Cobras, Asian ones and the Very-Very Dangerous AUSTRALIAN Species are kept in FLORIDA only at the VENOM ONE Facility. Knowing that a Black Mamba bite usually incapacitates you in 20-30min max will there be enough Time to save him? Furthermore, Chandler keeps the Chinese Horn-Nosed Pit Viper ( they call it the 100 Pace Snake because you usually lose consciousness b4 you take a hundred steps, the Venom drops your Blood pressure so quickly). I doubt that even VENOM ONE stocks antivenin for such a rare Species. Chandler should invest some money to Buy Antivenom at least for his EXOTIC SPECIES it will be the Best Investment of his Life. All Serious and Responsible Keepers do keep their own Stock, he should do too. That's my humble Opinion.

Is it weird that I stopped breathing and moving when the taipan was about to eat. My nervous eaters instincts kicked in. 😂😂😂
