Happy birthday Amy! 🎉 Amy, super dacob, romina and classics with a quirk, all mentioned the cons with the leather peeling or not lasting with this bag. There seems to be a huge design flaw with leather having issues by the chain opening. Hopefully Chanel will remedy that soon. But i think with all the social media negative press, this design may not retain its value and people may be hesitant to buy Chanel 22 second hand (if that’s a factor when you decide on a bag purchase).

Hi Amy, does your 22 bag have a horizontal line indent across it as well? I notice that the fabric lining inside causes the exterior of the bag to have a line indent across it.

Creases are normal on leather, especially for this bag, as it is a soft and pliable leather bag.

I watched Decop, this type of bag got lots of defect issue and Chanel won’t let him get the same type of bag anymore due to multiple people got same issues peeling, design flaw.

Seeing on multiple channels there’s major quality issues with that bag. It’s bonded leather, not even real leather, and will peel after slight wear. It’s made like a $100 bag.

@@trippishine scraps of leather are ground up, mixed with plastic type materials, and flattened into sheets. It’s like plywood versus hardwood. At a luxury price it should all be top quality top grain leather, colored with the best pigments.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. This is not made of bonded leather. It’s normal, real leather. The quality “issues” I’ve seen people have with this bag is with the metallic leather. Chanel’s metallic leather is known to be VERY delicate. This bag should not have metallic leather because of the lack of structure. It makes it that much more prone to cracking. When they use metallic on top of the leather it’s a different process that is formed on top. And that’s why it’s so delicate. Not sure what Chanel was thinking making this style with metallic. But the quality with the regular leather is amazing.

Oh Amy, you can sell me any bag 😂 Happy Birthday!!! I bought the 22A Brown, but started having doubts when Romina and Dacob shared their unfortunate experiences with the 22. I’m outside the return window and had made up my mind this week to turn it out of my collection so I wouldn’t have to deal with potential quality issues down the road. Your first impressions and the demonstration of the organizer were 👍🏼 I have tried my ouches inside once and did not like “the puddle look” and how the corners. It’s nice to know that the organizer really does help prevent that bottom section from creasing. I hope you’ll keep an eye on the leather and report back if you experience any issues with the bag. Though I hope you don’t see anything of that sort! The Small size really suits you!

Although I appreciate the efforts and intentions put into the conception of this bag, I don't think I will ever buy it unless I get an amazing deal... and after seeing your mod-shots, I do know why now: this new design is no more than Virginie Viard's take on Stella Mc Cartney's Fallabella bag but at least 5 times more expensive !!! I myself used to carry YSL' version of the garbage bag named Kahala back in 2005! I did rotate it with my reissue non stop those years. Besides, Chanel did already come up with similar seasonal designs numerous times over the last 15 years. I highly doubt this bag will ever become a classic: it will soon be forgotten just like the 31 a few years ago or even the Girl bag prior to that....
