Subscribed. I enjoy your reviews. Would love to see your collection. I don't own a reissue. If I ever get one, maybe a mini. I have 1 classic flap in yellow of all colors. I LOVE it. My wardrobe is neutral so I'm over black bags. The pops of color are like jewelry to me. I do have a chanel trendy vanity in black that I pull out for certain occasions.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the*preluxs* as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

Beautiful bags! ❤ I have three vintage Chanel CF bags came with their owner’s manual. In the manual, it states, the metal parts of your handbag are gilded with an alloy containing 24K gold’. This tells us the gold plating is not 24k gold, but an alloy containing 24k gold. Most of the KZbinrs mistakenly and loosely saying ‘it’s 24K gold’, which is not correct. 24K gold is very soft, easy to be scratched, not a good gilding material for hardwares on bags. Hope this helps.

That’s so interesting I wasn’t aware! I assumed the way I see a lot of old bags have lost their yellow tone that the 24k gold plating did in fact wear off, but I guess an alloy would make a lot more sense! Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🫶🏼

The gold alloy plating will also wear off. This is the complete statement in the manual, ‘…which is sometimes sensitive to sea air and acidity of skin’. Gold in 99.99% purity form won’t oxidize. However, gold alloy is a mixture of gold and other metals such as copper and nickel. these other metals in the alloy will oxidize, especially when exposed to salty air and acidic skin. That’s why 14k gold and 18K gold will get darkened over time. Also, our vintage bag hardwares are coated. you can’t polish the coating. The plated coating is thin, it will come off when polished. Avoid hand sensitizer / alcohol gets on the gold alloy plating too, it will also cause the plating to come off. Some vintage Chanel bags with faded gold tone was the result of being misused such as mentioned above.

Is your reissue navy or black? You are able to flatten the bottom of the reissue if you push up the leather from the bottom until it stays flat. I'm a fan of the pointy bottom personally, but I have both depending on size. You are lucky you are slim enough to wear all your bags crossbody. If you are a curvy girl they won't hit you in a flattering place! If you have more Chanel bags I'd love to see a Chanel collection video:)

The reissue is navy blue ☺️ I actually like the way the bottom of the bag is rounded! I was just stating that that’s part of the charm of the bag 😊 and for sure I will try to film a Chanel collection video!! 🫶🏼
