CHANEL FALL 2023: BLUSH HARMONY + BYZANCE QUAD 328 PARURE CRISTAL ||Review, Application & Comparison

After visiting the flagship Chanel store in Paris last month I’m totally in. Had the most incredible time in the makeup and skin care dept. the person helping me was fantastic and so knowledgeable. I can’t afford the clothes but by getting some makeup I feel a little closer to Chanel.

I purchased all four of the Quads from the Byzance Collection and couldn't be more happier with them. The problem has been, in every case of You Tubers applying these, that they are not using the palettes nor shades to their fullest potential. Just because a shadow from Chanel doesn't swatch well on the arm, it means absolutely nothing as we don't wear our eye-shadows there, yet on our lids. Customers have been crying out for something different in the way of colour and Chanel certainly came through! You only have to look at the name of the collection to understand that it's meant to be impactful, not subtle. They gave us the option of four different Quads to use how we wish. It's not Chanel's fault if those applying the shadows are too afraid to build up the pigment. There have been both rather editorial and quite subdued promotional pictures released and then you have your imagination. The Collection is based on shades that are representative of jewels! Therefore, the red and green in Baroque aren't meant to be blended out, but worn intensified. If you don't have to confidence or experience to use shadows in a more dramatic way or to wear them pigmented, then Baroque and Impériale are most definitely not for you. Chanel has given the option of the two softer palettes, although in this example in the video, the wrong palette was chosen as the skin-tone is too dark for these lighter pink and rose shades. Why is it that everyone keeps blending out the deepest shades? Build these up or use as a base to add the sparkling shade over the top. Chanel dropped a video last night that shows a model with the green from Baroque dramatically intensified across the lids, gold softly across the very top and inner eye and then the built up rusty red along the lower lash line and swept slightly up the outer edge without touching the green. When many see the Baroque Quad, they think of Christmas. What they don't think about is how to wear it. Red and green cannot be used together on the lid touching or they will only muddy. A stunning green like this isn't meant to be blended softly, yet stand out! Those sparkling shades with a shift have the greatest potential to change a look. Basically, Chanel have provided all of these stunning shades and left it to us to create the looks ourselves. If you truly want to try a Quad, ask for advice from the representative on how to use it. I bought mine the week before last and all I've seen is a bunch of whiny You Tubers complaining for their own failings. It's not Chanel's fault if you didn't ask advice or didn't have the imagination to create spectacular looks. I do have much experience with make-up, I'm an artist of many genre's and collect fine jewellery that is centred on coloured gems. Yes, I have an advantage. Yet, I refuse to believe that no-one at all who is buying these is totally devoid of imagination. Usually, Chanel is meant to be a softer, more mature and stylish looking. In this case, the tables have turned and it's up to us to amp up our game and create something more special, even on the editorial side. As the shadows are buildable, I would suggest that an eye base us used and for the sparkling shades it's best to use a glitter glue, PML IntensifEYES stick or setting spray. Don't forget that the sponges in the palettes can apply the shadow very well, especially when stamped on first. There is nothing wrong with these Quads in the area of packaging, longevity, pigmentation of the shadows or the colour stories. Everything is provided, yet it's up to you to bring your imagination to the table! Best of luck.💎 🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

Hi Tania, thank you for swatching and applying the two Blush Harmony shades. I originally reserved the purple shade on preorder and just went back to add the pumpkin shade. Appreciated seeing potential swatch comparisons. The only similar blush I have to the purple blush is Nars Blissful. Can't wait to compare the two. The blush and loose eyeshadows (and Coco Bloom lipstick and nail polish) are from Chanel's Fall Winter collection. The quads are from the Byzance Collection inspired by Mademoiselle's fondness for jewels of the same name. The eye look you created is stunning! You got the most out of that eyeshadow palette!

I’m super fan of Chanel makeup. They have the most unique flattering colors, the lipsticks are extremely confortable and wear out very forgivingly, the powders are finely milled and I feel my looks always turn out elegant, it’s quick and easy to apply… just the price restrains me from buying more but it’s a way for me to get only what I really want. It’s like the makeup version of slow fashion 👌

That’s my favorite quad. In Japan we had those blushes and liquid eyeshadows first, but nothing about the byzance collection so far! I had to get my Cristal quad from Chanel Australia through a friend. Nice video!

Thank you for this video. I haven't seen other KZbinrs demonstrate Chanel eyeshadows; I think the products have been written off as difficult and underpigmented. Which is sad; I've found my older palettes to be quite versatile as many looks can be created with heavier application or use of setting spray on your brush. Also, I'm pretty sure the shimmers were meant to be applied with a spongetip applicator for a richer look. You did a great job with the products - sometimes a more subtle look is all you want. If there's anything I really dislike about Chanel it's that their launches are ridiculously chaotic 😡. I can't find ANY of the products you mentioned/reviewed here in the UK.
