I LOVE LOVE LOVE patent leather especially for Chanel and Dior bags. They are so durable and that’s what you want when you spend so much money on a bag!

I love my patent leather items, they have been very low maintenance and easy to use. I do have some minor denting and a couple items that are so dark that finger prints are an issue, but otherwise no issues! I do notice that pricing on the secondary market for patent is significantly less than regular leather.

Yes, the pricing on the secondhand market is interesting. I guess it's because patent leather is in less demand. But I love mine and I'm glad you love yours too!

I loved it when you stick the two jumbos together. My Chanel Jumbo also does that, now, I don't have to worry about that natural stickiness too much, thank you ssoooooo much..

I'm considering adding a jumbo in patent leather as the prices are really good on fashionphile and I was wondering how it compares the LV patent leather or other patent leathers as far as quality? 💖💖💖

Hi Josie. I have a vernis LV cosmetic pouch and I'd say it's more durable than Chanel's patent. It seems to be slightly more scratch resistant, but they both show fingerprints equally.

How is your black patent leather holding on? I want to add this patent leather to my collection but I have been told it is a NO due to colour transfer and things like mounds I don't know how true this is ?

Hi Maureen. I sold my Black patent leather Chanel, but before that I had never had any issues with color transfer. I still have my beige patent and I've also never had any issues with it. That is actually why I wanted a patent beige instead of a lambskin, because with patent I've never had to worry about what colors I wear. I hope you're able to add patent leather to your collection!

Hi! I still have my beige, but I sold the black. The beige looks as good as ever! Admittedly, I have not worn it much in the past 2 years due to COVID, but I'd certainly still recommend it.

I think patent is beautiful however; I have noticed it becoming sticky with age, to the point where the shine starts to dull. Now this was not with a Chanel bag so maybe quality is a factor!

congratulations to her! chanel doesn't recommend you do anything, except use the cloth that comes with it to wipe off dust periodically. some people use cleaners, but i haven't found that to be necessary

Hi! Thank you! The only thing I've done with these handbags is dust them off occasionally. I just use the Chanel cloth included w/ purchase for that. For more intensive cleaning, I would probably take the handbags to the boutique.

My dear I’m thinking of getting jumbo in beige and I wear a lot of black. Is color transfer an issue?

Hi! I also wear a lot of Black and I have not had an issue. I am more worried about blue jeans that I wear more than Black sweaters or dresses. But I will fully admit I don't wear this handbag as much as my others because it's a little dressier, so if you wear it more often you might run into issues. I hope you don't let that scare you away, though, because I see you're a fellow patent lover and they're so great!

Hey! Love your videos! Do you still have your patent Chanel? I just purchased an orange Jumbo pre loved and I’m wondering how yours is holding up. There’s minor wear and tear on the one that I purchased. It looks like the leather is peeling a little bit around the corners near the stitching. It’s not noticeable unless you really closely examine it. But I’m wondering if it will get worse.

Hi! I still my beige one, and it has no wear, but admittedly I don't wear it very often and don't wear it places where I would be walking closely to people/where it might get spills or anything on it. I've heard a few people say something similar about peeling at edges, but nothing about it becoming a larger issue--so I hope that's the case for you too!

How do you clean patent leather ? Any special cleaners ?

I've only used the cloth provided from Chanel to wipe hand prints off. Chanel doesn't recommend using any cleaner.

Hi! It is not more than 5-6 pounds, and weighs less than my caviar leather handbags!

@@girlabee I heard the can be sticky, you also mentioned that in your video. Do you put something in between the flap and the bag where it closes? Thank you for your video. I love patent but no one ever talks about it.

@@vkl0253 I keep the fabric material Chanel gives with purchase in between the flap and the handbag when I'm not using it, but when I wear the bags I do not put anything there. I think they still wear fine that way, but we'll see how they look in 10 years!
