I love that you pointed out how variable the "perfect" bag can be depending on where you live, what you do, how you use it! Moving to an east coast city absolutely changed my ideal "everyday" bag. It needs to be light, but roomy, easy to access, but secure, etc. Personally I'm not into this ultra matte collection from Dior. I also suspect it will scratch quickly despite Dior's lambskin being known as more robust.

I had a relatively new rule these past few years where if I ever had any doubts about a purchase or if I had to make it work or alter an item in some way, I would not pull the trigger. Saved me a lot of money and potential heartache. Much as I love the Lady Dior, the Chanel Coco Handle really suits you better, particularly in this So Black combination. Also, the Coco Handle has a much more robust quality to it than the Trendy Flap, which I find to be a little more formal and dressed-up. Enjoy, Michele!

Ooohmygerd! This is the Chanel bag for me! Except, maybe a little too small -- use as "evening" bag. BTW, I am totally dreaming. I love how you described the perfect NYC bag. We New Yawkers need practical. Zipper top, choice of handle and shoulder strap, kryptonite leather and has to be gorgeous. I wish Chanel made zipper top bags as nice as the one you just purchased. For that I might just stretch the budget to get a once in a lifetime Chanel bag. Enjoy it Michele. You deserve it.

I got the lady D joy in ultra black. Super edgy and by the way, that diamond cannage leather is indestructible! I’ve thrown her around and not a single scuff or scratch. That being said, I also have the coco handle in so black as well :) they’re both beautiful

Gorgeous! That bag has always appealed to me, especially because of the strap portion of the chain. I bought the classic flap a few years ago thinking it was going to be a forever bag, however the chain slipped off my shoulder incessantly to the point where I would have to double up the chain and hand carry it which is not my preferred style at all. I ended up returning it because I simply couldn't justify it. That was a very sad day indeed.

Wow we have a similar taste. I also loved the ultra matte black lady dior but when i saw it the leather looked too rubbery so i passed. I bought the same coco handle so black because of the shiny luxurius caviar leather, it nearly looks like lambskin. Very nice! Enjoy it in good health ❤️

I have the same bag but in Large with chevron caviar. I absolutely love it! Especially the black on black. The top handle is kinda awkward sometimes when I’m wearing it on my shoulder, I’m so used to straps just lying down flat. But it’s stunning! I love yours!

Congrats on the Coco Handle! It's beautiful! Do you have any concerns on wear and tear for the so black hardware? I've heard instances about the black coating chipping away in previous seasons. Not sure if Chanel has fixed this for the pre fall collection.
