I found my dream Chanel tweed bag this year, I got it preowned but it was practically still new. Mine is black and white with black leather and double flap in the inside, it is essentially the classic flap. I never thought about the fact that the tweed fabric could wear if I wore the bag on my shoulder, thank you for pointing that out.

A double flap also means the tweed is better supported so you don't have my floppy/flimsy issue right? If i were in a dress or other soft fabric, i wouldn't have an issue with carrying the tweed bag off my shoulder but if my pants are rough (denim etc) i prefer not to risk it. Also I like that you protect your bag well and keep it close to your body. i was in a rush the other day and accidentally my chanel cf fell from my shoulder and it smashed on the concrete ground :(( one corner got scratched immediately. my heart was bleeding ...

Thanks for a very through review. Is this tweed bag heavy compared to a Jumbo? I stayed in a humid country so I don't know if tweed would be hard to maintain here. Smell and stains are what I would be worried about but then again, mould against leather is also something I worry about. So I'm looking at denim bag. I'm still researching on this material and stumbled upon your video. Have you considered a denim bag before? Love to hear your thoughts. 💙💞

I have a vintage Chanel Jumbo and it is easily quadruple the weight, if not more. I love the look of a denim bag but wouldn't add one to my collection since this tweed blue colour scheme gives off that impression. Good point regarding the impact of humidity on leather - any chance you can stock a lot of dehumidifiers together with your bags for climate control? I have been on a break with my first baby but aiming to upload next month a detailed review of my entire luxury handbag collection - hope to see you again if that interests you :) Wishing you a great week!

Love this video! Again so very informative. You do good editing for sure. You got me thinking of buying a tweed flap now...lol I've never seen leather and tweed combo, it's usually all tweed. And I cannot agree with you more on being a carbon copy using my Chanel black medium classic flap and therefore I use it the least. But I will never sell it, especially with their crazy price increase. It has triple from what I pay!!! US just had another $300 increase to all the classic flap and $200 on the boys btw. I do PayPal credit with 0% APR for up to 6 months and that helped me space out purchases. Your new bag is unique and gorgeous, enjoy it! XO

Hi, it’s been two years since this video. Can I check with you how is the tweed holding up? I just purchased a tweed Chanel 19 in large size. With such huge surface area, I’m afraid it will fluff up very badly and the shape won’t hold like a leather bag. I’m planning to use it as everyday + travel bag. And will be great if you can share how you clean it and get rid of built up smell overtime.

Hi TheSam3462 thank you for stopping by! Re your query, my Chanel tweed bag still looks and smells the same today as when I reviewed it - although I only use my bag for occasions and always pack lightly. If you plan to use everyday and for travel where you’re packing heavily, try your best to keep the tweed protected from the ground/surfaces/scratches - I don’t have much confidence regarding how the fabric can be repaired if damaged. I’ve never experienced stretching since mine is a small bag. As a fabric bag I believe it does need more regular exposure to sunlight/fresh air to prevent buildup of mildew - that’s what I do on a monthly basis and I haven’t had any issues with smells. Great video. Since I live in Florida this fabric might only be useful for travel to fall/winter seasons. Leather and straw, and canvas are all year long options for me. 💜

How does the tweed hold up compared to caviar? Can I use the tweed bag everyday?

Hi rachna as i mentioned in this review, tweed is delicate. No where near the durability of leather, let alone one as scratch resistant as caviar. You can use everyday if it's a smaller bag that you can always protect with your body and not overstuff etc - otherwise, speaking generally, any scrape on tweed will likely pull the thread and leave a visible mark (same case with any woven fabric!). I am taking a little break from YT as i gave birth to my first child. Merry Christmas!
