CHANGE THE SCV - MANY DIESELS MAY BE AFFECTED BY INCORRECT FUEL PRESSURE

SCV = SUCTION CONTROL VALVE
The suction control valve is the main component that controls the fuel pressure very much like turning your tap on it needs to move smooth and swift which is why replacement can improve performance especially when a compact Type has been used as they are and have found to be often problematic
Not just in Toyota land cruiser in other makes and models of diesels it can cause stalling it can cause blowing smoke it can cause rattles and knocks.
The engine requires the correct fuel pressure for everything to work correctly.
Save money on supply pump replacement because theres likely nothing wrong with it.

Thanks for the other install video!!! The SCV on my Thai assembled 2009 Pajero Sport 3.2 GT began failing a couple of weeks ago at 192K km, ordered the longer unit with conversion parts included and problem solved. The place I ordered it from listed it as compatible with Nissan, Isuzu, Toyota, and Mitsubishi and it looked similar to the one in your install viddy.

Very good information there, I was having non starting issues with my prado it turned out to be the scv I replaced it with the short type I didn't know the long type would fit 😭😩😭

Anthony. Hope you had a great vacation. I just want to better understand issues with these SCVs. I don’t think you mentioned what problems the vehicle was exhibiting that caused you to replace this SCV. Yeah you did mention the typical smoking and stalling as common problem but you also said you drove the vehicle before replacing the SCV and it was perfect. So like I started - I am just seeking a better understanding.

2000 KDJ95 in Canada- all of a sudden started hard starting cold then nothing, was progressively smoking more black under full power before it died. Electronics are all good, the pump is getting fuel but nothing to the injectors. Im about to send the pump away, do you reckon I could try the SCV first? P1228 also.

Hi I have a 2008 Toyota prado 120 series D4D the problem iam having is when you pull up at lights there’s a slight rough idle but when you put it in N or P it goes away the prado has done 170000 ks so very low ks for age any idea what it could be

Hey there I recently replace my SCV on a 2008 Hilux KUN26, the part that I purchase was the long SVC part number 04226-0L010. Can please let me know that was the right part for my application. I also realize that my fuel consumption is a little worse then before.

Hello, may I ask. After replace SCV with new do we need learning or something? Cause, I replace short one with new long one, my engine just cranking not running. And I realized short one different pointing of hole, point outside, and long pointing to inside/body scv.

yes the long one will burn fuel drastically the average will be very less compared to shorter

Maybe it’s the wrong one might be it’s coincidence because you have a chip or a Remap Maybe you did other work on the car which caused a problem

Hi mate , do you need to reset the ECU after you install a new scv on a Hilux D4D??? If so, how do you do that??? I tried everything , the new one won't start the car but the old one starts the car fine after I cleaned it!!

no need reset ECU. but, perform supply pump initialization using scanner.

My mechanic replaced the scv on my hiace. He had to relearn it with his scanner. Not sure why but it is what it is.
