Just picked a G29, it had a new belt installed. To me the belt sits a little low in the secondary compared to my snowmobiles when stopped the belt sits at the top. The belt is tight between the clutches so when I hit the gas its like I'm hitting the nitrous button off the starting line. I checked the number on the belt and it says it is a 41.13" long belt. What can I check to get this to take off smoothly?

Thanks for watching, Curt! From your description of the symptoms, it sounds like someone may have installed a Heavy Duty Belt, there. There should be some slack on the drive belt on any G29. A regular duty replacement is here: www.golfcartgarage.com/golf-cart-drive-belt-yamaha-drive-with-team-clutch-2007-2012/ If you have more questions or need help, just get in touch. I've just replaced the drive belt recently, and it has sounded like it was slipping and failing to start a few times. I checked the belt and it seemed like it was a bit too loose. Is there a way to tighten the belt a little? I have the team style clutch.
@GolfCartGarage7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, Jesse! As you can see in our video, the belt should be loose enough to remove by hand while rolling the clutches. It will tighten when running when the clutches move. We usually don't see any issues with that unless ordered for the wrong model. Let us know if you have more questions or need more help. Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934

It should be the correct belt, it was from the Yamaha distributor, but it seemed like it has way more slack on it than when I put it on. Every now and then, I would need to pump the accelerator to get it going as it was just squealing and not going anywhere, which made me check the belt again. Thanks for the video and the reply!

If your early model G29 has the TEAM clutches, like shown in this video, I highly recommend updating to the new style FBT clutches. Those TEAM clutches are plagued with issues. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqjLg6yQq7edp7c
